Galactic Civ II
It was 10$ and came to a level of awsome when the Snathi (a minor and extreamly evil race of cute rodents) enterd the galactic stage. I was quick to befriend these creatures and supply them with my best tech.

Got Ratchet and Clank Size matter for free. And won WipEout Pulse on eBay for £4.91. Bargain!

EDIT:

Just got my friend a present on eBay, WipEout 64 (for the N64...) for £1.99. Double bargain!

For me it's either Morrowind or Gundam Crossfire (yeah I just said that, so what if it didn't push and boundaries, on it's own if you just play it without whining like a little ***** and don't expect revolution it's quite fun).

Bought Psychonauts for free. No really, they guy rang it up and it said "Psychonauts £0.00" glad I didn't correct him since it didn't come with a manual and ultimately I ended up selling it because it wasn't much fun to play.
You're......joking, right? That's the best platformer next to the mario titles!

Also, my pick would be Braid. So worth it.
No. I'm not. It's frustrating and I think the design gameplay wise is bad =/ Just my opinion. I love the visual style, the characters and humour. But it was beyond frustrating to play at points and just not all that fun. I prefer Prince of Persia (Sands of Time Trilogy) and Mario.

I'm not saying it's a BAD game by any means it's just not fun to PLAY I found.
I'm not gonna bash on you for not liking it, tho I do have to say it's a pity you didn't find it enjoyable. Don't know how long ago it was you played it, but maybe give it another try see if its worth it? Just a hearty recommendation I think many will agree on :)
Thanks for not bashing me, but I don't think it's something that I'd find better a second time round. It's a shame because it's my kind of humour and I'd love an animated movie of it if they ever made one, but I guess they'd rather make movies out of unfilmable games like Shadow of the Colossus and Monopoly.

titan quest for £2.99 free delivery (and arrived next day), from play.com

imo it's almost as good as diablo2:lod, the game is actually better but unfortunately the multiplayer wasn't as good as diablo.

best 2.99 i've ever spent.

I picked up Morrowind for about 5$ (either 10 euros or 2.5, can't remember).
Same went for Port Royale 2 and Earth 2150, both great games.

I bought Batman: The Game for NES for about five bucks. Very fun to play. Also got both Max Paynes for a total of seven bucks, and MGS2 for about 3 bucks.
