I think it looks pretty awesome. I am hoping that they also include a soundtrack with it as well. The Songbird statue looks awesome.
what about the CE without the songbird? not every CE has the songbird included.
It looks about the same just without the statue. I think it will be a good CE.

I haven't ever really gotten any collector's editions, so my fave doesn't exactly have a whole lot of competition.

Fave:
Fable 3 - Didn't cost much more than the regular edition, it came with a book casing, playing cards that had some of the characters on them, a moral choice coin, several bits of DLC, and exclusive box art.

Could have been better:
Mass Effect 3 - Cost $20 or so extra for an itty bitty art book, miniature first issue of the Omega comic, some exclusive DLC, the day one DLC, and a steel case. Oh yeah, there was a soundtrack, but it was a digital download only, and they made it almost impossible to get the code for it.

Mostly crap:
Perfect Dark Zero - While the steel case + slip case and prequel comic were nice, the second disk of bonus content consisted of a X-Box dashboard wallpaper, some gamerpics maybe, a chapter of the novel Initial Vector (awesome book, but an on-disk chapter of a book is a bit lame), and a song from the club level that you could only listen to on that disk. Oh yeah, you also got a random bit of shiny cardboard that I have no idea what it's supposed to mean.
Then again, I got it for free so I don't care too much.

Can't really remember:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Ok, so there was a pair of NVGs, Soap's head, a steel case, and... a big box for it all? It had to come with more, right?

Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas probably had the best I can think of, with Halo Reach coming in second.

Baldur's Gate 2: CE.

It came with a t-shirt with the SoA logo on it, which you can't get anywhere else.

I'd rather have that over figurines, art books, poker chips, tin boxes, stuff you'd normally stick in a display case hidden from view to the general public. But being able to wear the t-shirt outside, showing off your support for the game, and free advertising for it?

I really liked my standard edition The Witcher 2 set:

Got the game, manual, a game guide, a coin, a map, paper models of Geralt and Dandelion, DVD and a CD of the soundtrack and finally a propanganda leaflet of something in game. All for £30. Amazing.

Also I love the Dark Souls Prepare To Die for PC edition:

Game, artbook, manual, poster, postcards, soundtrack and DVD, all for £17 in this case. Awesome!

...BF3 didn't have a CE. It had a "Limited Edition" that was priced the same and was just for early adopters and gave them the B2K DLC for free.
Admittedly, I didn't want to include BF3, but I wanted the 3-3-3 effect. ME2 would been a better example.

The statue looks pretty sweet, but everything else is very "meh" as far as I am concerned. The limited edition version is the same, but without the statue, so that doesn't interest me.

My problem is that most real life stuff is the kind of thing you look at once and then forget about (art books, lithographs), but the digital stuff isn't really worth the extra money when you think about how much it cost to make.

The best ones are when they contain something unique that stands out. The Fallout 3 Pip-Boy version, the New Vegas with the cards, Bioshock 2 with the Vinyl. Those are the kinds of things that are worth getting.

Digital things should be unique to the limited edition. Not "free" with it, but then charging everybody else at a later date.

The only ones I have gotten I feel I wasted my money on to be honest. I am yet to see one that I couldn't do without (the three I mentioned above that I liked, one of them was US only, the other two I considered getting, but decided against at the time).

Well, I love my Borderlands 2 CE, and my Bioshock 2, but I haven't seen it mentioned yet so I'll go with Uncharted 3 for diversity. I think Europe got a better case (treasure chest instead of closet...thing)but It has Drakes ring and belt buckle, and a steelbook case. Also a statue,(meh) but I love the ring.

I wish I hadn't pre-ordered it on Steam now. Even though I have the PS3 version, and bought the Steam version, I will be buying the boxed PC version for these glorious items you have shown me. Maybe I have an illness.

As sour of feeling as I got for mass effect 3 the collectors edition was awesome. A nice patch, art book, comic, and case, all for 80 bucks is pretty good.

I've heard that the Bioshock 2 one was good, with the UV posters and real vinyl soundtrack.

But the one I like is the Deus Ex: Human Revolution one. The art book was ok, the documentary was so-so but the box art itself is awesome and the action figure is really detailed.
I have both of those, actually. I think the Bioshock 2 one wins, despite Deus Ex HR being the better game. It's because the massive artbook and the beautiful posters.

The Alan wake one. it was only £10 more and featured a full limited book that expanded on the games story. thats what i want for being a fan not a figurine or art book, they are meaningless. it also included a amazing soundtrack (CD) and a bonus disc with exclusive making of features (which i love) and video commentary for the whole game. talk about caring about your fans. Alan wake is still in my opinion the only good exclusive Microsoft still has. Remedy are a great developer, under looked unfortunately. bring on alan wake 2.
I second this, Alan Wake was the only reason for me to own an XBox. Bad news for you though, Alan Wake is no longer an XBox exclusive, the game is on PC now as well, and a much better version without the screen tearing, and low rez painful visuals of the XBox version.

My Personal favorite collector's edition is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, I have the UK hard case and the Russian collector's with the t-shirt, dog tags, map and zippo lighter. The Clear Sky collector's is also really nice.

The best? God of war 3 ultimate edition, complete series soundtrack, all three games and a rocking box to keep it in? awesome.

Followed by

Catherine (which I had to import), and New Vegas were also awesome.

the worst for me was probably Gta IV's, bag, keyring, storage box, limited soundtrack and artbook,

its not bad news for me at all as i despise Microsoft for screwing the game over: released on the day of RDR with no marketing support what so ever. i really hope the next game is also released on sonys platform as that's my console of choice now. i never play my Xbox and the only reason i keep it is because i still own the limited edition of Alan wake.
