Nine Inch Nails at Bonnaroo kicked ass. The crowd went insane during March of The Pigs and Reptile.

Best concert? I've been lucky enough to see heaps of good bands live so thats a hard one. Maybe Soilwork. They were pretty sweet and I love pretty much every song of theirs.

I've managed to get to a heap of concerts over the years

I'd have to say The Stray Cats at the enmore in feb this year was the best, with marky ramones Blitzkrieg at the manning bar second best, micheal graves' vocals were awesome (he was from the misfits for all you uneducated young uns out there)

Rise Against back in 2005, before they were popular, well, actually, before pretty much anyone had ever heard of them. And it was when they were punk and not PETA. Was pretty funny though, a few months later "Swing Life Away" started to get played on the radio, and everyone made excuses for why they couldn't go instead of admitting that they had never heard of them back when they were here and that they only liked the crappy acoustic song that was on the radio. They were there with Alexisonfire, and that is where I heard about them, still not as good as Rise Against though.

Either that or In Fear and Faith and Parkway Drive about a month ago.

I'm wondering what is the best/coolest concert you've ever seen? For me it was Iron Maiden on the Somewhere Back In Time '08. The stage show alone would of made Michael Bay soil himself.
Was in Toronto for that concert. Fucking awesome.

Iron Maiden and Metallica (who were just here last month) were the two best concerts I've been too.

Lamb of god was fucking horrendous.

Also the Rancid/Rise against concert this summer was pretty good, if only to see Rancid and rise against live in the same night.

A Nine Inch Nails concert I saw last year at the Ford Center. Lights, smoke, sound, bass... AN AWESOME LED SCREEN WITH TRENT REZNOR SINGING BEHIND IT AND LANDSCAPES.
I couldn't hear for a good day after that concert.
Or see.

Hmm i'd say it's a toss up between between faith no mores wolverhampton date of their last tour before they split up. Or muse when they first headlined the second stage at reading.

V fest 2009.

The killers, Snow Patrol, Oasis, The Wombats, The Script, Ocean colour scene, all simply brilliant. =D
hah i went with my friend's band that played vfest (they were the first band to play i think)

i thought vfest 08 > 09 but thats just my opinion
Yeah, was it possibly due to muse? All my friends went to 08 and preferred it simply due to muse, but I prefer the bands I saw at 09.

What was your mates band by the way?

Manowar singing our national anthem in OUR language.
It was the best concert ever. They sang for 5 hours. Also, this was their second time in two years.

Think my best one was Megadeth at UEA in Norwich, 07. But might be overtaken as going to see Trivium and Chimaira in London in March!
I saw Megadeth and Slayer at the same night. It was beyond awesome.

EDIT - Oct 13 2009 at perth and they(Megadeth) performed 1320 completly live for the fisrt time.

Ummmm... Muse at Wembley Stadium in 2006 was pretty awesome, saw Biffy Clyro at Brixton Academy last week, that was great as well. They're easily my two favourite so far, I'm seeing Muse at Wembley Stadium again next year, hopefully they'll top their last performance there and hopefully I'll get into the golden circle this time.

Slayer lit their nazi eagle on fire during their concert. Mustaine made a first time joke when about to perform 1320. I think it went like this;
"I haven't actually played this and sang this live at the same time before. But first time for everything, speaking of which I don't have many "first times" left.

Slipknot with Machine Head supporting last December in Birmingham. One of the best gigs I have ever been to, the stage show was amazing and being in the crowd was awesome. Also managing to get 12,000 people to all sit down on the arena floor then jump up on command for Spit it Out was incredible.

At Leeds Festival this year Anti-Flag managed to turn the entire Lock-up stage tent into a giant circle pit that was a lot of fun to be in too.

I can say, without doubt, the best concert I've ever been to is Nine Inch Nails at Red Rocks Amphitheater in August, 2008. I was high as a kite and drunk off my ass at the time, but to be fair, that was true of every concert I've gone to, ever (and this exact moment, in fact, which I most certainly am not at a concert). So yes, Nine Inch Nails rocks like hell itself on earth, and is balls-to-the-wall awesome, despite having released their first album before I entered kindergarten.

The opener, Deer Hunter, sucked, however, and I'm pretty sure their only purpose was to increase beer sales (which was quite successful). It's not like anyone will leave because the opener sucked, I mean, it's fucking NINE INCH NAILS here.

There was no pit, of course; anyone who's been to Red Rocks would know why. Still, absolutely fucking amazing concert.

I still think watching the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performing Beethoven's 9th Symphony has to rank as one of the greatest concerts I've ever been too. It's such a wonderful piece of music.
