Go on. Tell me this isn't a more bad ass version.

Sue me, I just like this version a lot more.

Gotta agree with Queen Michael and MelasZepheos on this one.

I listen to a lot of covers, so...

"Cum on Feel the Noize"-original by Slade, cover by Quiet Riot

"Chop Suey"-original by System of a Down, cover by Richard Cheese

"Hurt"-original by Nine Inch Nails, cover by Johnny Cash

"The Mercy Seat"-original by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, cover by Johnny Cash

"Ballroom Blitz"-original by Sweet, cover by Krokus

"Radar Love"-original by Golden Earring, cover by Krokus

"Misirlou"-original a 1920 Greek song, cover by Dick Dale

"Live and Let Die"-original by Paul McCartney & The Wings, cover by Guns N' Roses

And finally, in my opinion the most impressive cover...

I've always liked the Celldweller cover of "Tragedy" and the Korn cover of "Word Up," personally.

Most of my favourite covers have been listed already, so I'll simply throw in Rihanna's Umbrella, as covered by The Baseballs [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcir9CfSlG8], who rework songs into '50s rock & roll tracks.

Thought of another one, that throws my earlier pick into serious contention (IMO, naturally);

Blackbird, as performed by The Beatles

Blackbird, as performed by Sarah McLachlan

Stuck In The Metal by Eagles Of Death Metal, a cover of Stuck In The Middle by Stealers Wheels.

Also on a similar note I heard the worst cover of my life the other day, it was a cover of Otherworld by The Black Mages, have a listen and compare the original with it.

Johnny Cash's cover of hurt
Placebo's version of running up that hill
Rufus Wainwrights or Jeff Buckleys version of Hallelujah.

Those are my 3 favourite covers

I think the only answer is "Hurt" by Johnny Cash.

He actually took a NIN song and made it HIS song. Trent has even admitted that that is not his song anymore..
