On topic, I thought the most recent Halo 4 map pack was actually very good, and breaks 343 Industry's run of really crummy DLC for Reach and Halo 4.
It didn't work did it?
No, you are still safe, run while you can.

As MrCollins has suggested: Run, Forrest! Run!

Do the L4D2 custom maps count as DLC? Otherwise I don't think I've ever played that much DLC.

I really did enjoy The Passing though, when it first came out. So sad D:

Oh Publisher's club members... you so cray cray with your silly theme avatar events. (Wait I'm a publisher's club member, why aren't I doing that too?).

I don't know if this counts Festival of Blood was sort of kind of DLC. I'm going to go with that though that may qualify as a stand alone game.

Nothing that comes to mind. Closest that comes to "best" is BL1's Secret Armory of General Knoxx. Loved Knoxx as a character, the rest was just moar shooty.

Lair of the Shadow Broker.

Yet to be beaten in my eyes. Beautifully paced, good mix of story and gameplay, fun and occasionally touching dialogue, the works.

I like Dragonborn and Shivering Isles equally, though I'd say that Dragonborn is for more personal reasons. I'd like to say Bloodmoon, but I haven't played Morrowind without it, so I sort of lack the context to say how much I like it as DLC.

Lair of the Shadow Broker seems to come up a lot on this thread, but I found it to be... just really corny. Except for that bit in the car. Well, actually, that was pretty corny too, but in a good, funny way.

I've loved all the DLC for Crusader Kings 2 so far, that's games been receiving excellent post release support.

But if I had to pick just one DLC, yeah, gonna have to go with the popular opinion and say Shadow Broker. Just a really well done little expansion that had just about everything I'd hoped a piece of story content for a game like mass effect would have. Now if only the other Mass Effect DLC was nearly as good...

Undead Nightmare for Red Dead was pretty amazing.

I felt justified in buying it as DLC instead of waiting for a GOTY edition as I normally do.

well im not sure if its considered DLC because it was a full on expansion but heck i downloaded it

Agreed, 100% agreed. The Shivering Isles are awesome and by far my favorite DLC I've played. Then again I've not played through any of New Vegas' DLC yet so that may change, but it's not likely because the Shivering Isles was so awesome.

LotSB has been mentioned, but recently I played the Dead Money DLC for New Vegas...and damn. The gameplay was annoying, but the story was not only one of the best in the game, but one of the best videogame stories I've ever seen, period. Way more poignant then it had any right to be.

I did love Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker.

Overlord showed a great formula for what a standalone quest's story should be like, and was one of the more successfully tragic parts of the Mass Effect series. LOTSB was just an all around great followup for ME2's ending; unique locations, character development, solid payoff, the works.

Shivering Isles spoiling me may be why I didn't enjoy Skyrim as much as I should have...

That humorous dialogue, those diverse mind-screw quests, that setting...

Twas lovely.

Chalk up another vote for Lair of the Shadow Broker.

Let's throw in Warden's Keep from the original Dragon Age as an honourable mention.

Fallout: New Vegas, Old World Blues, by far. Plenty of comedy, fun weapons and gear from the minds of SCIENCE!, and lots of Robo-Scorpions.

Point Lookout for Fallout 3.

Zombie Island of Dr. Ned for Borderlands.

I guess I'm a fan of 'spooky' DLCs for non-spooky games. Plus, games these days don't have nearly enough zombies.

I haven't bought a whole lot of DLC so my list is pretty short.
Anyway.
RAAM's Shadow was pretty cool. A pretty well-lengthed campaign, the return of the Kryll (if you enjoyed that), the return and playability of RAAM and some new Locust with new weapons, Kryll control, a shotgun with a bayonet with an AWESOME execution, etc. Along with some new weapon skins and characters to top it all off.
Yeah, I thought that was pretty sweet.

I had the most fun with Old World Blues for Fallout:NV. I loved the zany sci-fi environment of the big empty.
