I hate how they 'updated' the look of Spyro for Skylanders. Although I do like the way Whirlwind looks (or whatever the name of the Target Exclusive one is)
Yeah I was referring to the PS1 Spyro, not the one that looks like he has had acid thrown on his face.

I liked Bahamut in FF9, out of all the Final Fantasy games I have played, it's the only one where he gets to use his immense power to outright murder people, examples:

Valoo always held a special place in my heart. It must be his fat laziness.

No mention of Bahamut? Seriously? For shame gamers, for shame.

Classic design, uber powerful, and pretty much the first thing that comes to mind when you pair 'gaming' and 'dragon' together in the same sentence.

Tiamat beats your Bahamut any day of the week.
I live the fact that Tiamat looks that way because of D&D, the original Bablonian description doesn't resemble anythine we would recognise!
And Bahamut is even stranger! Bahamut is an Arabic myth where it is actually a giant fish! It is a fish that has a bull standing on it, and on the bull is a mountain, at the top of this mountain is an angel, the angel is holding 6 hells, then we have earth and 7 heavens! Below Bahamut is a Serphent! Sounds pretty weird! How this manifested itself into a Dragon is beyond me!

Anyway, OT: Chilli Billi and Chilly Willy were pretty funny! Especially as it was an exterme version of the Video Game classic of taking an enemy that already exists and giving it a pallette swap! Works pretty well though! At least in games like FF you knew what you were getting when you saw a previous enemy in a new coat!

Actually the dragon who has stood out the most to me in any game was recently in Dark Souls.
The Gaping Dragon wasn't even a tough boss, beat him on my first attempt with no damage taken, but he sure was probably the most unique dragon I have ever seen in a game.

Indeed. Dreamfinder concurs.

I'm actually going to have to put my vote in for the Skyrim dragons, though, for the fact that they actually interact with the world around them in a dragon-ish way, perching on rooftops, attacking people who aren't you as well as you, roasting deer with fiery breath, and sweeping across huge, huge landscapes. That's a dragon, friends.

I gotta give some love to the Dragons of Lunar. White Dragon Quark literally shat diamonds, and the baby dragon characters of the first two games (Nall and Ruby) are just great fun to be around. NPC: "Ghaleon has become an omnipotent man!" Nall: "Eww! Why would you tell us that? We don't care if Ghaleon shoots blanks!"

But you might argue that those dragons are too soft, too minor, and that's fair. May I introduce you, then, to Nicol Bolas, of the Magic: the Gathering lore.

He is one of the oldest (possibly THE oldest) and most powerful beings in the Magic multiverse, though his power has been drastically reduced lately due to a shift in the nature of the planes. Finding himself mortal for the first time in millennia, Bolas has begun a scheme across several universes to reclaim his lost power. Despite his enormous power, he prefers to manipulate others to enacting his will. To him, there is no difference between victim and servant, and while his enormous pride might be his eventual downfall, it will take multiple planeswalkers working together to overcome him.

Plus, in his original art on his original card, he was sitting in a skull-adorned throne reading a book, with a stack of books beside. How can you not love a well-read dragon?

Bahamut. Not just any version but the version in Final Fantasy I. Give him a rat tail and he upgrades your party.

I know the game ain't out yet but this dragon encounter looks so dam amazing!
Well if I'm not mistaken that should be one of the elder dragons which are as powerful as any of the 6 gods in Guild Wars (I'm uncertain if each one is as powerful as one god or all of them). Each one of them causes some form of calamity just from awakening. One dragon seperates all access and communication from one of the 3 continents by creating an undead fleet so massive it blocades the entire continent from leaving. I'm definitely interested in how it's going to work out story wise.

Dragons in gaming. Probably this guy. Because I'm old and despite it being a pretty awful game by today's standards it was probably the first "spectacle" game.

Well he is not in any games that I know of, but the best dragon is definitely Smaug from The Hobbit. He's got both the strength and the smarts to be a successful dragon.
