I would say my favorites are the Ocarina Of Time and Super Metroid end boss fights if only they made them bloody challenging!

I don't even like the game but maybe FF7 had the most epic boss fight, oh I don't know they are all good.

glados, because it was the only fight in the game so you never saw it coming.
I would actually have to agree with this one. Not to mention the fact that the actual ending made it all the better. Gotta love Portal.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I loved this game, and the 4-stage boss fight included all the best elements, instead of just forgetting it and going for a sword fight (although, happily, there is one of those too). It complemented the story perfectly, and didnt really feel like they had just stuck it on at the end. It feels like they had the ending the whole way through, and it just rolled smoothly into it.
even so, it was too easy
Do it with the Magic Armour and zero rupees. It's very hard. And also hilarious because in the cutscene where he runs towards Midna, he's STILL in the powered-down Magic Armour, even though it's powered-down and clanks with each step.

I also loved the endfight in Majora's Mask. Majora's Incarnation has the best battle music ever.

EarthBound - one of the weirdest and most brilliant moments in any game I've played.
That was scary, that fight. Epic, amazing, and scary.

The end fight in MGS4 was indeed brilliant, and the fact I had to desperately wring the life out of the controller in order to get Snake to react only added to the realism of being a rapidly aged, half-dead guy fighting for not only his life, but the safety of the world.

It's very much the yin to the yang that is my second favorite, the frantic, high energy duel between Ryu Hayabusa and the end boss in Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox. That's button melting intense.

Wow, the end fight of MGS4 is winning this thread so hard and I thought it was ridiculous: too long, too slow, too melodramatic, too "I punch, you punch". Each to their own, I suppose.

Total Annihilation: The Core Contigency, main campaign. If you play as Core, you destroy the universe at the end. :D

Glados from Portal. No question. No argument. No doubt. Nothing comes close. Not even kinda. Whoever they are Glados has gotten them beat.
Actually, GLaDOS is a pretty piss-poor fight. No challenge at all. It's awesome and funny, no question, but if I wanna have a fun boss fight, I don't fight GLaDOS for the umpteenth time, I fight the Undead Core or even the Metroid Prime. Not that it's a BAD fight, but the actual.. fight bit? Not hard at all. Only so many times you can listen to her lines before it gets old, really.

Not sure of the best but the worst is definately Uncharted.

It took me ages to work out you just charge at the guy!

The whole way through the game it's seems as though it's always the most elaborate methods are the correct one so at the end i'm trying to beat the guy with the helicopter or summon demons or something :p but all you do is charge him.

Dissapointing to say the least.

Good game though.

I would have to agree that the MGS boss of 3 and 4 were such memorable ending fights. I felt that the sence of achievment was lost in the final fantasy boss fights because there was always a harder fight else where in the game, Ruby and Emerald in VII, the stupid ball thing in IX and Nemosis in X, so I always found the end battle underwhelming, sepiroth was cool though. The exeption to that was VI which was just an awesome lead up to the boss. I feel Tyrant in RES2 has been overlooked, while acting as clair, that was such a gratifying kill, to finally be rid of that constant stalking prick.

Beyond Good and Evil was pretty sweet. The flooding water all around ou, pitching and rolling your little platform as you fight the minions, and the section where you have the learn the pattern of the monster, then do it backwards totally kicked my arse black and blue.

Also, I know it was just a saber duel but it was an exhilarating one for me - JK2, Jedi Outcast. Multiple ways of finishing Desann off, the sheer fun of duelling in that game anyway. It was sweet.

Yes! I was just thinking about Jedi Outcast today for the first time in ages. There was a game that got lightsabers right.
