Red Dead Redemption.

Because of Deadman's Gun by Ashtar Command. Just a beautiful song and it fits so well into the John Marston story.

Music is pretty much the only reason I tolerate credits. Case in point:

Just a good song and maybe some pretty pictures is all I ask for. Save your clever writing for the rest of the game.
Very first thing that popped into my head were those credits.

For me, they beat Portal's ending credits. I just love that song. Especially after the whole ending scene.

I get chills every time I do that sequence, plus the credits afterwards.
I could not agree more. In fact, the ending music just makes me want to immediately pick the game up and start playing it again.

I actually like both of Retro/Grade's credit sequences.
But this was just such an amusing way to start a game:

The "actual" end credits have you shooting all the credits and is presented in a vastly different way than the start roll.

I'd have to say the original Silent Hill credits stick with me because after all the horror the game subjects you to the credits contain some really corny cast bloopers that completely change the tone.

Also Bayonetta because it interrupts them about three times to make you fight to that brilliant music!

Because it wraps up every single little in the game, is very inspiring, full of great music and uses that same circumstances as the intro to show the contrast between how the world and the characters were before, and how they are after.

And it is half an hour long from the moment you slay the endboss.

For some reason, I'm okay with the length, because for a 50 hour game, 1/2 hour for a incredibly fulfilling ending is simply sublime. Because ending a 20 hour game with a two minute sequnce (Bioshock) makes me feel kinda empty, but this end just fills me up with hope and strength (Disclaimer: love both games, just comparing the emotions i feel from their endings)

Final Fantasy 7 had a great end credits. It was very formal with an ending theme that summed up the adventure quite well. Not to mention the scene after the credits.

Fallout had a really good end credits too, they way they opted to play the complete version of that song just gives me goosebumps every time. It was a subtle technique.

Secret of Mana is my personal favorite ending credits though. Not only does it have the most powerful SNES song I ever heard, it really just invokes a sort of nostalgic feel when you are taken back to the places you helped save. Best part about it is the very end with the meaningful end screen.

Actually, Super Metroid is also one of my favorites. Especially with that triumphant yet mysterious theme.

Have to agree with Persona 3's ending. The images and that song combined with what just happened zomg.

Final Fantasy 6 had a totally epic medley of all the character themes and mixed the credits with scenes of everyone escaping the tower. And after the escape, on the airship it plays a really rousing rending of the classic Final Fantasy theme.

Also, bonus point to the credits only rolling after the REAL ending for Red Dead Redemption.

I'd have to say the best ending credits sequence in gaming was Devil May Cry 3. The reasons for that are that 1. It had you playing and not just sitting there 2. It rewarded you for playing well (100 kills for a secret ending) 3. The only time in-game to hear the best song on the soundtrack fully (it only appears in one other cutscene for 30 seconds)

I guess the secret to good credits is one that isn't boring to sit through and while the gameplay example above could work there are other ways to do that like having something interesting going on. The only bad credits scenes are the ones that are just a list of names (99% of them)

Oh before I forget Guilty Gear X2 /\ Core had some kickass music to play during the credits scene and I actually watch those credits.

Legend of Zelda: Four-Sword Adventure
(the 3DS version or the version that came with the GBA version of A Link to the Past. I haven't played through the Gamecube version)

You clobber fairies and stuff for money during the entire credit roll.
And it only gets better the more players you have.

Most of the soundtrack is brilliant, with a strong opening theme AND ending theme.
I haven't found much that moves me the same way (basically, both Chrono games).

I love the credits for the Persona games, lovely reflective music that effectively sums up the main feelings of the game with the characters displayed as well as important points in the story.

No Metroid Prime yet? Disappoint. That had some of the best credits I've ever seen.
Also, a good thing is that you can skip through them.

Don't know how to embed videos. Any help would be nice.

My favorite part of the credits is usually the music.

Saint's Row: The Third had Power by Kanye West. I can't STAND Kanye but I can't help but love that song and it fit the game so well.

Nothing will ever beat God Hand though.

In my first post i forgot to mention why DOUBLE DRAGON NEONs ending is epic.

I will give you a hint: a karaoke singing skeletor imitation and that`s not even the last thing that you`ll see in the end.
Haven`t seen something like this in a game before.
