Best ending you've seen in a game!

Ok,i just finished Portal 2 today and first of all Valve really pulled it of to make a great sequal to Portal (it like Yatzee says Portal perfection), secondly i couldn't stop smiling for an hour after i finished because of the ending in the game was the best i ever seen

You barely survive the assault of one reaper with the help of all of the fleet at the Citadel. You feel victorious, but then you're reminded he was just one of millions/billions of reapers, and that they're all preparing to wipe out all life.

Well, I have to say the best ending to both Persona 3 and 4 were awesome. Extremely sad, but really well done.

For those who do not know, and want it to be spoiled, at the end of Persona 3 you sacrifice yourself to save the world... except you don't actually die until a month later, in the arms of Aigis. In the true ending of Persona 4, you beat the real big bad on your last day in Inaba. Even though you beat the monster and saved the world, you still have to leave. I must say, I cried at both of them, but I will never forget the ending to either one.

I'll avoid repeating others. I very much enjoyed the ending to Paper Mario and The Thousand Year Door. It was bittersweet to see the port sink slowly away under the setting sun. The "In Water" ending from Silent Hill 2 left me speechless, devastated when I first saw it. Some may disagree, but I found the ending to Castlevania Lords of Shadow to be quite strong, in the end Gabriel was left alone, seeing him standing on his own was a moving sight. I feel like I'm missing something... but nothing is leaping out at me, so I'll leave it for now.

Call of Duty 4's was pretty good?
