That ending (not the discussion afterwords, of course) just needed a Morgan Freeman narration and it would have been the most epic ending ever...MiracleOfSound said:And, of course, Mass Effect 1.

Gah! That movie was fucking awesome.MiracleOfSound said:The last 10 minutes of Sunshine were incredible.

I wish I could tell you that Shepard fought the good fight, and the Reapers let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but the Galaxy is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile - galactic life consists of routine, and then more routine. Every so often, Shepard would show up with fresh bruises. The Geth kept at him - sometimes he was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. And that's how it went for Shepard - that was his routine. I do believe those first two years were the worst for him, and I also believe that if things had gone on that way, this place would have got the best of him.The Gentleman said:That ending (not the discussion afterwords, of course) just needed a Morgan Freeman narration and it would have been the most epic ending ever...MiracleOfSound said:And, of course, Mass Effect 1.
Yeah I found that ending to be very powerful and unexpected.Sajuuk-khar said:Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven had a good ending too, didn't see it coming.
Please do so. I don't know what your reaction will be since you saw the movie first but I read the novella first and I say that this is not only my favourite novella of all time but my third favourite fictional story period (behind only Jurassic Park and Prey by Michael Crichton).Cajt said:So the novella ends differently? Maybe I should read it, then...AvsJoe said:Agreed. I love the novella it's based on but the movie's ending was better.
I was thinking more along the lines of "This was the moment that the war began... and where her greatest heroes fought their first stand and won."Soundish said:I wish I could tell you that Shepard fought the good fight, and the Reapers let him be. I'll give it a shot, but it'll probably take a while because I've got lots of other books to read.AvsJoe said:Please do so. The movie put me off of ever reading Desperation. I know I'm going against the old adage "Never judge a book by its movie" but that movie was just horrible! It sits nicely in my bottom 20 and I have seen almost 2500 movies now. When you do finish the book, though, please tell me if I am wrong in skipping it over.Cajt said:I'll give it a shot, but it'll probably take a while because I've got lots of other books to read.AvsJoe said:Please do so.
