What has been your best experience playing a video game?

I remember it was the last day of school in year 8 (8th grade) and there was about 20 of us in our grade attending. So what we did, we hijacked one of the computer rooms and all 20 of us played Unreal Tournament: GOTY edition in a LAN party and the map was Facing Worlds, the capture the flag map, for 3 hours straight. It was epic and the score was like 70 to 100 and we weren't even playing to beat the other team, we were just having a blast. Huge nostalgia trip when I play that map now. Superb

Demons Souls.

I don't think I've played a game that can come close to matching it in my 15 years of gaming. It's the only game that's actually made me think that games have the remote potential of becoming art. I still think the whole "games are art" movement is just a bunch of pretentious pseudo-intellectuals who feel the need to justify their hobby to themselves and society at large under the proposition that it is "art," but Demons Souls is one of the only decent examples I've found otherwise.

Just playing Banjo Kazooie with my parents and brother a long time ago. Nothing beats that.

I usualy listen to music when playing games so when I was playing Oblivion the song Fading Entity came on ....... during one of the most epic parts in the game .......... it ..... was ....... awesome .......

Same thing happens when I play League of Legends and Pendulum pops on. Just epic.

Getting the Cthun server first in WOW we had been battling another guild full of snooty people to get the first kill. When we did it, it was awesome. Loved that guild.

A good memory was playing Myst with my dad, I feel sad when I play it now becuase he died a few years ago. He always loved the sound of the wind on the main island.

Recently I have been playing GOL with a friend it's pretty hilarious. It's nice to see how much we kind of trust each other and work together well tho.

Well the best multiplayer experience was a mate and I playing Dynasty Tactics 2.

The game went for more than 2 hours and by the end of it we both only had a couple of officers left and the majority of our armies had been decimated. His forces were closing in on my commander who I made build lots of fences to stall him while my last surviving officers made their way across the field to support him.

By the end of the match his commander and my commander were 1v1 with each other and both of them had like 500 troops left, in the end I managed to defeat his commander first and won the battle.

Best multiplayer match ever.

Being by myself playing a video game. Not sure which and when but I find it a lot more fun being by myself with only the sounds from the game playing and just getting immersed in the virtual world than having other homo sapiens around me making fucking noises.

Playing games with friends. The Wii is excellent for this with its Mario games. My living room just becomes a Noise fest of Yelling, Screaming, Laughter..... I love games, but i love even more when i can share my experience with others.

You are now one of my favourite people.

OT- Singeplayer it has to be playing through Ocarina of Time, Windwaker or Pokemon Red, they all make me feel so happy.
Multiplayer would have to be the first time I played Dead Space 2 online, we had no idea where to go, so were just running terrified through dark tunnels listening to our team mates being murdered behind us, it was brilliant.

My best gaming experience was when i was first playing my original run through Dragon Age: Origins and the reason for being my best game experience was because the game was very immersive with the environment which made the game feel very real in a sense.

Probably playing Halo 1 with my 3 other friends. Even in Co-op, we'd sometimes just start trying to kill each other, with the marines just standing there going "WTF?". And the first time I played the level Library with them on Legendary, that was a blast.

The first computer game I ever really got into was Fallout 1. I got a certain feeling while playing that game that I only get when playing the Fallout series or 1 or 2 other games. I actively search for games to give me that feeling!
In 18 years of gaming I have only felt that 6 times. I have played hundreds of games... only 6 times.

"That" is hard to describe but I consider it to be the best feeling in the world.

Portal 2

but Im goign to say the ABSOLUTE best might have been Bioschock only because my expectations of games were REALLY low

back then I didnt realise video games could have "good" storys, that cutscenes werent awkward things you just skip, that the atmosphere couldnt feel so creepy, that a game couldnt make you cry

it really did blow my mind and is the reason I play games today

Probably Halo 3 with mates.

The Halo series has given me some of the greatest moments in games I've experienced, but it has also given me many of the worst.

Playing amnesia dark descent with my friend over Skype and being scared out of my mind, while listening to him nearly crying was great.
Also, the first few times i played tf2 on the Xbox 360 before getting my computer or playing l4d with friends/randoms and actually talking is a hell of a lot of fun
