Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition.

I was a legend in the arcade on that one.

Mortal Kombat II is a close second, but SF2 takes the crown.

tekken 3..

anyone who says soul calibre... Im in no position to belittle your opinion but.... naaaaaaaaaaa

I was going to make a thread but since im here, what is your (anyone) opinion on fight sticks?
You can't in all seriousness put forward Tekken as an awesome fighting game while at the same time belittling Soul Calibur. The two are the most dial-a-combo friendly examples in the history of fighting games. They're closer in comparison than say Tekken and Virtua Fighter.

HD Remix and Third Strike are the pinnacle of fighting games. SFIV is pretty good, but it might take until SSFIV or the third iteration before it reaches 3S levels of perfection.

Without going too much in depth, for me that's the Guilty Gear and Virtua Fighter series. Even though those two are quite opposite...

Marvel vs Capcom 2, as in best game.

Street Fighter 3 Alpha, just for being my favorite.

Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast, hands down. Beautiful, none of the bullshit that came with 3 and 4, fluid and with alot of actual martial arts, like shaolin staff, broadsword and longsword disciplines, kenjutsu and others.

Street Fighter 4, fluid, simple tools, easy to learn, hard to master, gorgeous, plain awesome.

read yahtzees review of soul calibre, he sums it up quite well.. i just found in SC button bashers could come out of a small tournament unbeaten by spamming the same move over.. i know you can mash in tekken, but as an experienced tekken player i could overcome the mashers.. i had played SC quite a bit and when i came up against a spammer i was just "like, wtf?" at how powerless i was..

OK, SC can be a lot of fun, but i just think tekken has that bit more depth that makes it truly great

I'd say mines a tie between street fighter 4, guilty gear xx2 reload, super street fighter 2 and street fighter alpha 3 MAX

I always prefered KoF '98 but 2002 is a close second.
