Yup. I had four songs on the list when I started this thread, and two of them were Super Meat Boy (the other one being the dark world version). Love me some Danny B.
You may also be interested in knowing that I did this exact same thing for ice a while back and got a lot of great hits. (...)
I also have a friend who wants to assemble a wind list, so hit me up if you've got any leads on that!
I posted in that ice thread :3 Ice/cold is my favorite element so more my vibe.
And I do have a few good ones for wind actually (well good according to my tastes, I do not agree with the no1 choice in either this thread or the ice one so I'm a bit of a weirdo it seems), will you be making a new thread or you want me to just post them here?

Ah, so you did! I didn't wind up adding your song (I liked it but it was a little too peppy for the trudgery of winter), but you did totally get me watching a playthrough of Tobal. I remember reading about that game in an EGM way back in the day and being quite intrigued.
You aren't weird for having a different favorite, though. The Okami song was just perfect for the mood I was looking for, and there's a huge variety of ways to do "Ice Music."
I'm probably not going to make a wind thread anytime soon, and it's probably best to stick with fire stuff on this one. You can PM me if you'd like.
I've never even played Metroid Prime, but somehow I knew something from that soundtrack would wind up on the list. Just needed to know the name of the song. Thanks for sharing!
The fire stage from Y's III (the SNES version)is simply hot to death
The PC Engine version is pretty dope too.
The Genesis version is a distant third. It's not bad but I don't think it has nearly the punch of the above two
Honestly, I think Lower Norfair from Super Metroid wins this thread.
But I digress.
Someone reminded me of a great atmospheric ost...Diablo 2 and Diablo. The tracks are mostly hellish, so you could probably use most of them for a fire themed level. Maybe a more hardcore level, some tracks are pretty dark haha.
Ok, some of them might be reaching but I could see each one working for a fire level, depending on the location of the fire, lol.
This thread gave me a good reason to listen to this soundtrack again
Well, I'm a week late to boast the greatness of Super Metroid's/Metroid Prime's Lower Norfair/Magmor Caverns and Sonic 3 and Knuckles' Lave Reef Act 1. I guess I'll offer a different Sonic theme:
