Best first person melee combat

I maintain that no game has had a first-person melee combat that wouldn't have been better in 3rd person and will continue to do so until proven otherwise.

As for bad FP melee combat, just take Oblivion...

clearly you've never played the condemned games. nothing more intense then trying to fend back psychopath hobos with just an old pipe, unless you're fending back hobos that look like manniquens

That sounds like a case of good atmosphere, not actual good combat...

I am good with this.

I played the console port and didn't have any problem with it. The game had a lot of things going for it, and i would play through it again if i get the time.

Riddick is a prime example of good FP Melee


As for a bad example, well Fallout 3 and Oblivion are pretty bad (in my opinion)

I salute you for this sir. Though you always get one guy who takes out the minigun when you're not expecting it.

Someone tried to do that once, he got punched simultaneously by 3 other heavies who were waitng for a turn.

or that one guy who is a spy disguised as a heavy...or when half the server is heavy's trying to have organized matches and the other half of the server is doing nothing but get in the way, that always sucks

i agree with the original post, first person fighters just dont seem to have any special touch for me, i have never once liked a fighting/fighter type game in first person, if there was an option (like oblivion) i always put it in third person, really its just not up to par

first person view is NOT how it should be, they dont get the angle right ever in a fighter as far as i can see, i looked at some condemned stuff and it looked okay..but still nothin i would consider
