I bought a new computer about six months ago and the free trial of kaspersky anti-virus is about to run out. i currently a mix of that and windows defender on my computer but i was wondering if there were any better free versions out there.

i don't use my anti-spy/anti-virus religiously because i don't do things that put my computer at risk but its always nice to have just in case.

Avast is the anti virus software that I use, and it works quite nice.

I'm with Aylaine for Spyware though -- Malwarebytes works great.

Anti Virus, for me is Microsoft Security Essentials. Whenever I watch hentai, sometimes I get a nasty bug here and there, but it always saves me butt from viruses. As for Spyware, I feel MaleWare Bytes is really the standard now. It's really good and it's never failed me before. :)

Those are my suggestions!
Another vote for Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes. Just remember - ONLY ONE antivirus at a time.

Good luck!

Avast! has served me well since I switched over from AVG. It doesn't get EVERYTHING, but a fair degree of common sense will last you.

I contracted the dreaded System Tool a while back after getting an unauthorised redirect by accidentally clicking on a banner ad (¬¬) Avast caught most of it, just had to track down the source in safe mode. Now I'm clean as a whistle! (I hope)

If your gonna pay for Anti-Virus try something like Ma Cafe. Otherwise I have been using Avast for years. Never put a foot wrong.
