Also this makes me wonder when Mechwarrior 4 will finally be released as freeware.
It's not an easy game to get into, the visuals aren't pretty and the interface is a complete mess, but once you get into it it's the best damn city/sim/civ/dungeon game out there since Dungeon Keeper and possibly the best ever made.
THIS tutorial is pretty well done and certainly makes learning the game easier than figuring it out on your own or reading a guide, while THIS tileset mod makes the visuals much less obscure and easier to follow. There are also programs that allow you to upload your fortress into a 3D visual so that you can get a better perspective on what you're making. Essential for grand above-ground constructs!


Yes, I am just using this as an excuse to show off my latest project. Damn I love Dwarf Fortress!
