Binding of Isaac and FTL are excellent roguelikes, both 10 I believe, and TF2 (as you probably know) is an excellent class-based FPS for whatever the cheapest item you can find/minimum amount you can put in your Steam wallet is.

BoI and FTL are both not the most immersive story-wise, but FTL has a lot more background and fleshes out the random encounters really well. BoI is really just see what crazy enemies await and cry at them, with an overarching satirical plot of your mother trying to sacrifice you to God.

Binding Of Isaac is good at eating time, you just have to acclimatise to the game imo, as when I first got it I got to about 12 hours of on off play, then one day it just happened, next thing you know I'm easily over 100 hours into it, quite a lot of play was offline so I can't say for sure how much...

Oh...my...god! How have I not heard about GOG.com, I feel like such an immense failure. Thank you kind sir, you have my enduring gratitude! : )
Careful, that site is like a sarlacc pit for your money.
I am already damning DustyDrB to hell for introducing the old school gamer in me to the digital equivalent of black tar heroin.
OK, I hope you haven't bought anything from GOG yet, because I have to say this: DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM GOG! Seriously. Wait a couple of days - they have a weekend sale every weekend, for some games - lately it's been titles from big publishers (last three weeks respectively - Square Enix, Activision, Ubisoft) as well as random other ones pretty frequently. You'll get twice the games you'll normally be able to afford, if you buy stuff on sale.

I was going to say FTL, but many have beaten me to it.
So I'll go with Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That!. They are two very good point and click style adventure games available in a bundle on steam for $5

Thanks for the heads up, and to everyone's suggestions! I guess I can slog through the next few days catching up on my netflix queue, if only to check out what they have available for sale this weekend.

Every one of those games is currently sitting in either my Xbox 360 or PC collection. Quite a bargain for you if you picked them all up for $10!

Geez that's a lot of games! Do you need an emulator for them, or are they standalone?

After so many of you guys have suggested FTL, I think I might go ahead and give that a whirl if nothing on sale this weekend tickles my fancy. Thanks everyone for kicking in some rocking suggestions, as well as informing this noob about the wonders of GoG. If anyone can think of anything that's been overlooked, shoot it my way, but again, all of your help has been GREATLY appreciated!

I just picked up Paper Mario: TYD and Super Mario Sunsyhine for 8 bucks each. Screw steam, thrift shops are where it's at.

I'll vouch for FTL any day of the week. Not only are you getting a ton of replay-ability with the base game, but the game already has a ton of great mods: http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=11

Deus Ex, possibly the best game ever made, if you can get past the graphics.
If you want something newer, TF2 is in my opinion the best class-based multiplayer shooter ever made. Also, it's completely free. Also also, HATS.

Thief II is currently $10 on Steam. If you like stealth FPS games then I'd pick this up. I describe it as everything that Assassin's Creed wanted to be, but never could.
Or you could get either Hitman 2: Silent Assassin or Blood Money for 9.99 eur--oh, wait, that's in euros. But Steam just converts dollars into euros, so it should be 9.99 dollars on Steam, right?

I personally like the Hitman games (Blood Money, at least, which is by far my favourite Hitman game) a tad bit more than the Thief games, even if I love the Thief games a lot. Having finished Dishonoured just two days ago, I actually feel kinda nostalgic about them.
