Psychonauts. I just love those messed up and stylized characters. Crysis isn't my cup of tea basically because it's so close to realism there's no actual point to look at it because you can see realistic forests in documentaries as well.

Baldur's Gate 2, especially since the collection I have now allows you to run in far higher resolutions.

Looks absolutely amazing for a game released around nine years ago.

I'll also second "Curse of Monkey Island" looked about a million times better than it's sequel.

World at War has some gorgeous buildings and lighting.

Overall though I'd go for Dead Space.

But MGS4 if you're giving more of a slant to art design.
*cough* Shadow of the Colossus *cough*

While the graphics are a little dated, it's still one of the best-looking games I've played, all due to the fantastic art design.
That's why the framerate sucked so hard. The best looking game on PS2 without MGS in its title though :)

I must say I'm very immpressed by how good Fallout 3 looks, considering the size of the world and sheer volume of things to do and see.
As for overall best, Crysis with everything maxed out will always win the battle of pure graphical muscle, but I'll also throw in Gears of War 2 and Killzone 2, as not only are they fantastic showcases for their respective consoles, they have some amazing art design, especially Gears.
Helghan is truly the stuff of nightmares, with dark oppressive buildings looming over you at all times, and Gears of War's "destroyed beauty" theme is brilliant, though the planet is ruined and torn apart, you can see that once upon a time it was a very beautiful place.
The Locust architecture is also very nice and menacing.

Dead Space is a certain contendor.
Gears 2 was just all brownie...nothing really..........artistic about it. Just WHAM! Throw some buildings, modify them and color them brown!

Resident Evil 5 has the best graphics I've seen in a while. The fastidious detail and texture polish is quite pleasing to the eye.

Crysis, undoubtedly. But MGS4 if you're giving more of a slant to art design. Of the games which aren't out yet, Starcraft 2 is looking good -> the only game which'll *really* push my rig.
It isn't in-game graphics, but next time you see the MGS4 box, take a good long look at it, it seriously looks real

*grabs MGS4 box*

You're right, had not noticed that. That's truly ridiculous actually -> Kojima productions sure do know how to squeeze graphics out of a console (refers back to MGS2 and 3 having great graphics on an underpowered machine).

Hi guys,

In which game have you found the best graphics? For my part I'll say Far cry 2 and Resident Evil 5! I really love the atmosphere that these games generate!
Technically speaking it's Crysis Warhead, however I'm not that keen on the aesthetic. I'd say Assassin's Creed DX10 has had the biggest wow factor, perhaps Mass Effect or Gears of War when they came out.
