I loved me some Metal Gear Solid, and Shadow of the Colossus is a great one too. Someone already mentioned it, but Diablo 2 is another contender. All the Silent Hill games from 2 onwards had some fun intros.

Not really a cinematic, but the first, non-combating part of Bioshock (which is pretty much an interactive, HL style cinematic) is, in my opinion better than the rest of the game.
