Best Game Introduction (In you opinion)

I loved the Quake 4 opening, it made me feel like I was watching a movie until the game started, then it was Quake. It has this awesome opening with dead soldiers floating in space in the wreckage of a ship, then 3-ish EDF ships pop out of hyper space, I just thinks it's awesome.

nope, it's a fighting game lol, and a great one at that (I don't even LIKE fighters and I'm in love with this game)

For me, it wasn't even an intro. It was the startup screen at the beginning of Killer 7. First you hear this electronic drone-moan type deal as the title pops up. You wait, nothing happens, then you press start, and an insanely hysterical laugh blares out of your speakers. That shit gave me chills, and I have been hooked on the game since that moment.

I guess I can also add in a great intro. Silent Hill 1. Walking around with the creepy camera angles, hearing the siren, then the little children-looking beasties taking you down, with no escape. I knew I was playing something that Resident Evil could never hope to touch.

BlazBlue is an arcade fighter actually. New one came out recently on the 360 but there was hardly any marketing or hype for it.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Armageddons Blade had a great one, with Gelu and the other main characters running through a wood to find a vault with the Armageddons Blade inside.

Age of Mythology had a great one too, where theres an huge and epic battle between an army of greek soldiers and an army of greek creatures of myth.

Doubles as "best introduction to a fun, minor gameplay mechanic" (surfing).

hells yeah. that one is both awesome and comedic in 1.

Vagrant Story, no contest. My favorite game, and my chest seems to swell every time I see the intro ... or any of the various story elements in the game, for that matter.

i absolutley love the intro video to Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Wii) as it just shows the game at its best with some pretty decent graphics and an epic music montage. another one for that is the opening for Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume (NDS) it's almost got Xbox graphics in that short opening video

Final Fantasy VIII. Not particularly original, I know, but damn... it sure got me excited.

Oh, I'd have to mention Soul Blade on PSX too, there was an ad for a local games shop on TV that used just the intro, had no info about what game it was or anything, I had no idea what it was but by God did I want to play it. That was kind of in the early days of truly cinematic CGI intro's, it was brilliant.
