I really liked the opening of Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem where you begin controlling Alex in a room full of zombies which you fight off only to discover that there is no hope of escape and HOLY CRAP I'M GOING TO DIE!

I love that game even though i never actually completed it; after my city became infected and roaming the streets wasn't as fun, i lost interest. I keep meaning to come back to it...LuntiX said:

Star Wars
This one is KOTOR's, but any Star Wars game that has the typical opening scrawl will do. Just hearing those first notes and seeing those 8 letters disappear into the distance gets you psyched up for some lightsabers, lazers and spaceships. A lot of the time the game will disappoint, but the scrawl will forever be ingraved into the minds of all.
I gots to go with Bioshock even though you don't know why the plane crashed it is still epic to be surrounded by flames and end up in a weird light house after a plane crash.
Oh, definately this. Also the follow up with Andrew Ryan's impressive speech. And the first sweep of Rapture followed by the first notice of a Splicer. It was an incredible beginning.shadowgaunt said:
