If you think it's a good game, you obviously haven't tried it on a PC, the controls just don't work.
That really depends on the game... maybe most third person games work better on consoles, but first person shooters are a million times more accurate and they control better in my opinion.

I would say that Counter-Strike: Source is a good example. I will start playing it and then I can't stop no matter how upset I get while I'm playing. I will seriously get upset while I play this game but for some reason continue.
Sorry, just have to say... you just went and got the wrong end of the stick, I admit that the control system that a PC offers could work for 3rd-person shooters and works better than console (imo), I'm saying that about one specific game... and that is the Gears of War port... so please, try to stay awake everyone, I don't have enough caffeine to go to all :p

Far Cry 2

I finished the damn thing, it was torturous.

It was bastard hard until about halfway through when you unlock the grenade launchers. Then the difficulty curve does a total 180 and you breeze through to the finale.

The endless travelling and respawning guardposts were just horrid all the way through though.

The game had some wonderful mechanics, and certainly looked pretty, but unfortunately its many flaws kept it from being as fun as it could have been.
Someone finished FC2?!
You sir, are fucking epic.
Why thank you. My nerd dedication is high!

It was incredibly boring 80% of the time, but when you finally got to a huge, awesome firefight it almost made it worth it.

There were a lot of people going 'waaaaa it's too hard', 'waaaa the enemies are too accurate'... they were obviously trying to play it like COD4. It was vital to use stealth.

Going to go with Far Cry 2 as well, and I didn't even use Grenade launchers.

I actually found it to be a good game aside from those damn guard posts. Without them I would have found it much more enjoyable.

Guild Wars. The game basically played itself. Seriously, half of the challenges were overcome by me clicking on some group of monsters then doing something else while the NPCs won the battle.

Mercenaries 2 (or as Yahtzee likes to call it, "Airstrikes 2: Hurray for Airstrikes")

It was so broken in so many ways but after beating and enjoying the first one, I wasn't going to let this one beat me.

I have to say Halo 2 for PC. I liked the first part because it had an interesting story and I wanted to see how it progressed but I just didn't like the second part. I still finished it though.

I gave up on Far Cry 2 at about 50-60% because it became boring.

As much as I wanted to like and finish Far Cry 2 I never did. When I first heard about it, it sounded like it would tick all of my boxes. But it just had balance issues. You claim that the game was all about stealth and I agree that's what the developers were likely going for, but it was just executed poorly.

I love unforgiving stealth games, I love any game where if one guy sees you because you were too retarded to hide yourself then you get well deservedly gang raped by enemy reinforcements. But the enemies in that game were able to detect the player character beyond reasonable logic. My mates and I have an ongoing joke about poorly programmed games having NPC's who are part of a hive-mind. See, Oblivion, specifically attempting to assassinate someone in Anvil, in the middle of night while they sleep alone in their own house only to trigger the spider senses of an imperial palace guard 400 kilometers away who quickly arrives to apprehend you. Guh..

CoD 4. The only reason I played the entire thing through on veteran was to justify my hate of the game to my friends.

I always figured that game to be 'so bad it's horrible'.

I've never been in this position. If a game is fucking hard, I will keep playing so I can say I beat it, but not if it's a bad game. If it's anything other than actual challenge that is holding me back (broken controls, over-powered AI, etc) then it will turn from "Screw you, I'm not backing down!" to "Screw this, I'm out of here."

I guess I don't see a reason why I should devote my time to a bad game.

Wow... you did that to show how much you hated the game? You have just won a cookie for being the biggest game-masochist ever.

Although I know what you mean on Veteran; I did eventually manage to beat it... a million deaths later, but it took a long time.

Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm for the Dreamcast... It is a horrible game. I couldn't stop playing it, though.
After a few hours of dragging myself through (for no reason other than I had it and wanted to complete it), I got to a level that actually gave me motion sickness and I felt disoriented the entire day. That's when I gave up and vowed to never to play it again.
