NOLF 2, it surpassed the original in the execution of the stealth mechanic and the level design and maintained NOLFs high standard of excellence.
+1

Also Starlancer, the prequel to Freelancer. Damn fine game.

Dynasty Tactics 2 on PS2.

Best turn-based game I've ever played, which is saying a lot because I really don't like turn-based gameplay.

Arcanum on the PC seems to have been fairly obscure, I've never met anybody else who's played it at least. The Legend of Legaia on the PS1 is also an overlooked gem, the sequel less so.

My choice would be Kula World. Seriously that game was as amazing as it was disorientating. PS1 and still one of the coolest platformers ever.

I absolutely agree. One of my favourite ps2 games. It's unfortunate it didn't sell very well, I think things like that are why Koei doesn't really mix up their formula too much. When they do, nobody buys it.

I'll go ahead and say Lufia 2 on the SNES. It was one of the better non-Square RPGs on the SNES.

The entire Saturn library. Panzer Dragoon Saga, Dragonforce, Shining Force 3, Nights... so many great games, so few sales.

Pharaoh. One of the best city-builders I've ever played. Takes a lot of management skills to build a city, defend it, feed it, provide luxuries, and build monuments at the same time.

Clive Barker's Undying. Creepy ass horror-shooter with a very cool setting and a very cool Irish accent belonging to the main character
Holy cow, I was thinking noone played it but me and the friends I passed it onto, that game was excellent. Such a pity they didn't make a second one, imagine what they could do with a world like that with todays graphics and development systems. The only thing I can critisise it for would be that it's really linear.

I had this on a PS1 demo and loved it, Kula world rules!!

On topic: - I used to really love a game on the sega megadrive called Headdy (at least I thinbk that was it) It was a platformer with a guy who could use his head to attack and change heads for different powers. oh and it was set in a toy world...loved it but not quite sure what the developers were taking at the time.....

Steel Lancer Arena International, on the PS2.

It was a game where you fought with a remote-controlled robot.

And damn was it awesome.

The original Blood Omen

Seriously, a lot of people have played Soul Reaver but barely anyone played Blood Omen
