Half Life 2: Episode 3...jk

In all seriousness, I'd have to say God of War III. That game blew me away.

Currently I'm going with Mass Effect 2. True it did annoy me that Ashley and Wrex weren't deeply involved with it but other than that it was a great game. Just a few faults but since I could never stop playing it I know this means it must be good.

Metro 2033 will be my choice so far but wait till Fallout comes out and ask me then, it would most likely been portal 2 but wtf.

Lost Planet 2. There haven't been too many games this year that I've liked.
yeah I just got this. Its...okay I guess. I dont really think too much of it, especially since you have to restart the entire chapter when you run out of lives from that obsolete system. I do really like the epic bosses though. I have only played it single player so far and I would be willing to put money that it was put together after the multiplayer.
If you are naming it your game of the first half of 2010, what is it that you have found really good about it?

OT: A tough question. I'll give the runner up to Red Dead Redmemption, which lost a few points for the many many pain-in-the-ass glitches and the reliance I built up on using Dead Eye. However, my Game of the first half of 2010 goes to Mass Effect 2, not only were the characters, story and combat top notch, but it also gets extra points for the great DLC that Bioware has been churning out. Haven't played the latest one yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Bioshock 2 or Mass Effect 2. However, Transformers: War For Cybertron comes out soon and while I don't expect it to be 10/10, I do hope to prove a good Transformers game can be made when not attempted by morons.

Heavy Rain, easily.
And I reckon it's going to stay that way, unless F1 2010's release will coincide with Petrov finishing his first race in the first three.

I will say Final Fantasy XIII. The combat is fun! I just don't like using only one summon. :D

Most likely Mass Effect 2, although Metro 2033 gets a definite mention.
Agreed and strongly disagreed. I really wanted to like Metro but...

Well, let's just not mention it.

Honourable mentions go to RD: Redemption (dreadful pacing though) and Alan Wake (not quite as good as it should have been).

Mafia 2 will - of course - be the greatest game ever though, and that's coming in August so even the glorious ME2 won't hold the title of "Top Game of 2010" for too long.

The whole restarting after you run out of lives never really bothered me. It gave me the incentive not to ever screw up. It's my game of the year so far because the co-op is a blast to play. I think the reason most people don't really like this game is the friendly AI. Which I admit, the AI does make the game a complete pain sometimes. But playing with friends really makes this game shine. The whole arcade feel of the game really appeals to me as well. The bosses are huge and really fun to face. There's just a lot I like about this game. It does have it's flaws, but I only see them as minor flaws. Overall I thought it was a great game.
