For me it has to Reus, I picked up the game today as it was on a flash sale and Im astonished. I absolutely love it and its just so great, the idea of creating all those stories like you do in Civilization as well as constantly being challenged with those little puzzles is awesome. I feel legitimately betrayed when the people turn against me when they want more and more and its just charming.

Id recommend it to anyone that likes Civ games and/or puzzle games, 100%.
The question is - why didn't the game get more coverage in the media? Im surprised that I only found out about it today, before I only saw it on the store page which is a shame.

Age of Empires II HD. But I already know it's awesome. Played it years ago with friends. Didn't realize they had a revamped version out until I saw it on the steam sales.

During the summer steam sale I got about 10 games for $30, which included:

Tomb Raider (the new one)
Just Cause 2
Mirror's edge
Dishonored
Portal 2
Super Meat Boy
Limbo
Thomas Was Alone
and more

To be fair, I didn't end up liking all of them, but I couldn't call any of them objectively bad either.

However I think the best deal I've gotten, at least from a gametime/dollar standpoint is my recent purchase of Skyrim for $15. Seeing as how I'm probably going to spend more time playing it than all the above mentioned games combined.

Probably Shadow Warrior. I liked the way it looked in TotalBiscuit's video on it. I'm looking forward to the katana with quite some anticipation.

I have bought nothing this particular Steam sale because I actually have to hold on to my money for Christmas presents and stuff. Yes even you £4 Skyrim. Sorry.

As for other sales though I got XCOM, one of my favourite games this year for free with Bioshock Infinite. As much as I have problems with Infinite and am never going to touch it again, getting a free XCOM with it is completely worth it. Gah the Enemy Within expansion is going to be on sale soon isn't it? Remind me to never buy anything at launch ever T_T

I did get Civ V with DLC on sale a while ago though, I don't really like it. It's more to do with the entire genre as a whole and I dislike the aesthetic design. I especially can't get into it without a proper Earth globe to build on oddly enough. I'm founding London in a desolate wasteland.

No change there then WAAAAAYYYYY

Let's see... I picked up

Witcher 2 EE (and redeemed GOG backup, might install that instead)
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die
New Vegas Ultimate Edition
Shadowrun Returns

Out of those, I have installed NV and Shadowrun. Of those I think I'm a little further on Shadowrun campaign - it's functional, but had somewhat confusing interface before I got it. I know that New Vegas isn't really "open" in Primm, but so far Shadowrun is the better.

Killing Floor, I got the full package on sale in one of their many holiday sales, and it's my secondmost played game on Steam. It's still one of the best wave and multiplayer zombie games out there, lasted me way longer than Left 4 Dead 2 did, but I haven't legitimately played a full round of that game in... shit, almost two years. I don't know why, I always thought the community was the most team-oriented community of any other online game, so many times I would cry "Go on without me!" and then everyone would kick it into overdrive and save me. Even the updates they throw at the game can't get me back in the game, I try every three months or so. Really is a good game, wish I was back in it, wish the Escapist group was still active.

And someone mentioned Just Cause 2, a game that periodically goes on sale for around $4 and can easily last you a few hundred hours. Yeah, that's a pretty good sale item.

Granted, I've sunk waaaaay more time in my firstmost played game on Steam (TF2), so take that as you will.

Only picked up Final Fantasy VII from Amazon(half the price of the Steam sale, so yeah). Was gonna get Borderlands 2 GOTY for $15 from some site, but as soon as I pressed buy the price changed to £19.99 which is over twice the price. Didn't feel worth it since they're still spewing out DLC for the game, so a GOTY 2.0 is bound to come.
Been a really unintresting sale to me so far. Considered getting Sleeping Dogs and Far Cry 3(also from Amazon, since once again it's half the price of Steam)for $13 but decided not to. Already own all these games on PS3 and PS, so I figured it was time to save some money.

Right now on the Steam Sale I just picked up Fallout 3 for around $5, Flashback for $4 and Shadowrun Returns for $8. I think Fallout was the best deal.

So far I have picked up:

The Walking Dead
Game Dev Tycoon
Sleeping Dogs
The Stanley Parable

I have only played Gave Dev Tycoon due to the fact it took about 100mb to download (my internet is shitty). Its pretty addictive.

The only game I've picked up is Godus because I have half a dozen friends that say how great it is.
Thus far I'm unimpressed.
