Deadly Premonition for $20.

Wait... that's its full price.

In that case, Mass Effect for $20. It was a whim at the time, but now I am so glad.

Skies of Arcadia: Legends for the Gamecube. Found it in the bargain bin, it remains one of my favorite games of all time.
Damn you!

Everytime I'm anywhere that might sell used or old games I look for that, but I've never found it. Gamecube had some good stuff but all that you usually find left on shelves is the garbage.

Toss up: Saw Mirror's Edge for 5 bucks, but waaaaaay back in the day I picked up this box of PC games, packed so cheaply it resembled those shrinkwrapped knockoff power rangers you see in convinience stores sometimes. Don't remember the names of all the games in it but one of them was Dune 2, and it alone was worth the 15 bucks. For reference these games ran on a pc with a pentium 1 and 256ram (rawr).

Guess I'll give the bargain award to mirrors edge though.

Does Half.com count? If so I just picked up a brand new copy of Tribes Vengeance for around ten bucks. Looking forward to fighting Beagles with exploding death frisbees.

Not exactly a bargain bin but steam has sales and during one of the said sales I grabbed tf2 for 10 bucks. Best 10 bucks spent ever.
Gotta love Steam sales. I've gotten some year old or so gems for less than $10-- ME1, L4D, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space. I think I got the entire Orange Box for something like $20.

Just wait till around Christmas, and also during the summer.

I spent 5 GBP on Freelancer for the PC. One of the best fiver's I've ever spent.

Oh and 7 GBP on Timesplitters 2, GREAT fun with 4 players.

Phantom Dust for Xbox for 15 dollars. How I love/loved that game.

I want a sequel so badly even if it's a spiritual one only.

Imagine if you will, combining a collectible card game like magic the gathering with a fast fighting game that uses 3D mechanics like an over-the-shoulder shooter or action game.

That is Phantom Dust. I have never played anything else like it and if you've played it neither have you. If you haven't you might love it, especially if you like any of the above mentioned genres, but even if you didn't love it you couldn't say it wasn't unique. It was a breath of fresh air and besides the impressively inventive strategic/action mechanic it's got some sweet music, fantastically fun multiplayer and the single player campaign has a pretty neat sci-fi plot about memories. Word of warning, the game takes ques from anime, in character designs, plot unraveling and the visual flare of your powers and the way they destroy freeway overpasses and such as you battle. If that's not your thing there's still a good game there. If that is your thing, by all means track down a copy of Phantom Dust.

I found an original factory sealed copy of Final Fantasy Tactics at Hastings for only 10 dollars. It was awesome because the man behind me was pissed off because that's what he came up there for and tried to convince me that I should give it to him since he had the intention of buying it first, but I was in line ahead of him. I took it home. Mwa ha ha!
