BEST Games Cutscenes

Most games have some pretty cool cutscenes but some are simple AMAZING. What is your favorite? Give reasons - either for graphics, action or general awesomeness. My vote is Halo Wars or any of the newer Metroid Primes.

I actually really enjoyed the Kingdom Heart cutscenes the music was great and the ones with action were awesome.

I can't think of a specific cutscene, but Metal Gear Solid must have had the best cut-scenes i've ever seen in video gaming. That PSX game really raised the bar for cinematic video games...

Got to be MGS. More cutscene than game.

Saints Row 2 cutscenes. Awesome seeing your character come to life.

FFVII had some pretty bad ass cutscenes.

A lot of the ones in the metal gear games are/were very impressive as well.

Mass effect had some pretty cool ones. The entire games like a movie anyway so whack your surround on and sit back.
And the ones in Stalker were very well done too, revealing very little but enough to make you want to carry on teasing at the story, whihc is a secondary part of the game to be honest.

Final Fantasy Crisis Core (specifically the Sephiroth fight one). It's not in 1080p and it's not E3 05 Killzone quality but wow those cutscenes make those 4.3 inchs shine.

OT: The cutscencs from PoP SoT blew me away when I first saw them.

You should've been a bit more specific, but I'd say Metal Gear Solid (storywise) or God of War 2 (graphics and action)

The scene in FFIX when Zidane dives to the bottom of the Iifa Tree to get Kuja or something like that, I've not played it in a long time.
Think I may have to dig my PS1 out.

Hmmmm, well the series of cut scenes in Mass Effect where you're fighting Saren are all pretty badass. But my all time favourite has to be the ones in guitar hero 3 for sheer randomness value!

I like cutscenens were you hit the SEARCH button before you make a topic.

Come on now, you have to actually put effort in to saying that.
For example, if it's asking "Who's your favourite character in video games" you can say.
"I like Link" and make the word "Link" a link to the earlier thread (showing it was done before).

If it's not witty, you just end up looking like an asshole.


Anyway.
I happen to have a soft spot for the opening cinematic of GUN.
It's short, but it's also awesome.

Well the first one that came to mind was the landing scene from FF VIII that begins with the moon's reflection getting broken up by the boats that your force is riding and then shows the battle that you're about to join going horribly for your allies on land. The end of the cutscene flows directly into game play which was something I'd never seen before. Halo 3's finale was pretty impressive as well.

I actually like any of the cutscenes in FFX. Also, God of War II had some pretty awesome ones.

I enjoyed the Halo Wars cutscenes. In paticular, I liked the cutscene of the Spatans vs. elites.
