I use a wireless Logitech something. I had a wired headset exactly like it before, but wireless is so freaking awesome. I just like being able to walk around the house and listen to Vent or music or walking away from games that I can't pause, but still knowing if I get attacked or something.

I'm thinking of getting some Turtle Beaches but do you guys know if there are any cheap but decent Turtle Beaches 'cos I'm kinda bust
I bought some cheap ones on ebay for about 30 pounds and they were complete shit.
Maybe I'll wait till christmas to buy some so I have enough money to buy a decent set.

Also what headset did you get and how much was it?

The 'XLC' ones. Not only did they perform bad but they broke very quickly.

Astros or Tridents are your best bet but they're expensive
Turtle beaches are the next best bet and pretty much the standard, Astros/Tridents are usually for more MLG etc
Its actually called a Tritton, not a trident, and its a great headset, works on my ps3 and 360. totally worth the $150 :D

Thanks for the advice I'll be sure to avoid them but I actually meant which ones have you got now and do they perform well?

Plantronics Gamecom are pretty sweet and they wont drill a big hole in your pocket, i picked mine up from eb for $60 AUD when they where $20 off, you could probably do better then that if you go online tho.

Thanks man. I wanna know cos I bought my Xbox a couple of months ago and for the first 4 or so I was just on CoD MW2 with my mates at which point some decent headphones would help massively especially since Reach is coming out soon before I'll be able to afford a decent set. And I still have the original Xbox headset that came in the box that hurt your head after a while.

Don't worry if you feel the need to say "Tl;Dr"

Funnily enough I just use a Microsoft LX-3000 Lifechat and that works just fine for me.

i use sennheisers for mixing and sound design - superior quality, but, y'know, professional. at the end of the day, the sound in a game isn't really worth the money it takes for a decent set of headphones. . .

SteelSeries Siberia V2 is the best one on the market IMO.
Like most things from Steelseries they are overpriced for the quality you get. In the end, there's probably 2 decent choices if you're looking to spend some proper money, either PC 350's, or HD 555's and get a clip on mic. Personally I would never buy a gaming headset again (had 5hv2's and they were muck), I'd always go for a quality pair of headphones and add a clip on mic.
