Batman: Hush Volumes 1 and 2

Jim Lee's awesome artwork does justice to a brilliant story by Jeph Loeb, Hero's fame, it's the first time since "Batman: Knightfall" has Batman been truly challenged. It's everything a Batman tale should be...Dark, thrilling and intelligent. Also by Loeb and definitely worth a read are Batman: Long Halloween and Batman: Dark Victory.

Going slightly off topic, next time you get a some chicken stuck in your teeth look in the mirror as you try to suck it out ( helps if you add a blank stare to that too )...why?...because you will discover the secret to Heath Legder's Joker :p

*licks lips together like there's a piece of chicken stuck* "Why..so...SEEERIOUS?" :D
By the god's he's figured it out! Somebody retrieve that oscar from his corpse...

Welcome to The Escapist... by the way... we're not normal
*looks kinda sheepishly guilty* actually I already decided to "retrieve" said oscar. figured he wouldn't miss it. Besides I can know justify buying a trophy cabinet.

I'm hoping I won't be flamed/laughed off the forums for this but my favorite graphic novel is a manga called Berserk.

Sweeet they can go next to this one ( Heath's)....I think Best Director and Best Film would be nice seeing as no one but Disney can get Best Animated Feature.

Best graphic novel is without a doubt Watchmen because it brings the whole superhero genre to a new level.

If your looking for other good graphic novels I would suggest V for Vendetta, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell, Arkham Asylum, and Batman: The Long Halloween (I don't know if this really counts but the complete Persepolis story is also good)

your on the wrong side of the internet. lol@titsblade btw.

I would say watchmen but to many people are jumping for it like Labradors trying to catch scooby snacks falling from the goddamn sky. check out the following in listed order if you've already brought everything on the planet watchmen related:

The Sandman

Mr.Punch

Miracle man & kid miracle man

hellboy (a personal favorite since one of the artist did a graphic novel for mutha fucking beowolf)

The goddamn batman

anything spiderman related under the specific label "with great power" or "redemption" as well as the single encounter of spider-man vs fear...

civil war is surprisingly fun but I will make it a mission to behead you if you bother to read the "what if" series after that.

I'd have to repeat a few people:

Y: The Last Man - Where one man and his pet monkey are the last surviving male mammals on the planet after an ...event.

Top 10, although there's not nearly enough of it, it covers a universe where everyone is a costumed superhero of some kind, so you can imagine how hard it is working at the local police dept.

Lastly, Preacher, for me, it's still the greatest comic book series ever. Jesse Custer, a small time preacher in Texas, giving up on the Lord and hitting the bottle, is hit by a force cast to earth by the union of an angel and demon, giving him the power of the Word of God, allowing him to command anyone who hears him.

Having looked into things, he decides God has given up on his responsibilities to Earth and starts trying to find him. Amongst all this, are weaved a whole bunch of other stories.

Now this may sound all a bit...heavy on the religion, but its a wide reaching tale, and while packed with sex and violence, never feels gratuitous. (ok, rarely.)

Like Watchmen, there's been rumours of a movie adaptation since forever, and HBO were considering it for a series, but I think it'll either get butchered, or it'll cause riots by Christian America for its portrayal of certain people.

Superman: RED SON. Very cool. Its superman if he was Russian!
Did you also see the alternate reality one where Superman is intercepted by Darkseid on the way to Earth? It's really dark and interesting.

But my favorite so far has been Kingdom Come. I haven't read Watchmen or Wanted or even 300 yet, so I'm a little behind the times, I guess. :)

Depends what what is allowed, for your standard American graphic novels I would say, Batman: Year one, The Killing Joke, V for Vendetta, Sandman. As for manga you have Death Note, Hellsing, Fullmetal Alchemist, Trinity Blood and thats all I can think of at the moment.
