That picture on the wall always gave me the heebie jeebies. Especialy when James walks up to it and says "It's HIM."

Project Zero/Fatal Frame.

Terrifying, disturbing, and with a cracking story.

PZ2 wasn't quite so scary, partly because the combat was easier (same problem as SH2, too-easy combat ruins a survival horror by making the survival part a nonissue), but the story was even better.

Condemned...only played the demo, but even in the middle of a sunny day while talking to my mate on Xbox Live, it still scared the crap out of me.

Clock Tower...or possibly Clock Tower 3. I say those cos its the only two of those ive played. They sure make you feel less more helpless than either RE or Silent Hill.

Also, gotta give the props to Silent Hill.

i recently got silent hill 2, and i say that was the scariest game i have ever played.
although the only other scary game i have ever played was the resident evil remake. that was scary too. I usually dont play scary games

Fatal Frame

An excellent choice i remember playing that with my mates and nearly shitting ourselves in the entrance hall trying to figure out what was in front of us only to realize it was a mirror
