Shattered Horizon stole my soul for the short server life it had, being able to power down your suit and float through the endless black, absorbed by the deafening silence, oh the memories

Yup, this would be mine as well.

Such a shame no one plays it anymore. *sigh* At least there's bots for when I come back to it once a year or so.

This is probably an unusual one, but ill go with Eve Online. I always thing spaceships are less about dogfighting and mroe about command-center like control of the ship based on menus and charts. You dont aim your guns, you tell computer to aim your guns. computer is better at aiming than you. same for flying somewhere. That to me always felt more of a spaceship experience than those supposedly immersive dogfighters like Squadron 42.

I agree that a spreadsheet simulator would probably be the closest to what space travel will end up like.

For me, I'll go with something different. The spacewalking from The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. Not because it is realistic, but because it has a real weight to the movement. You really feel like you are out on the hull of a massive ship, exchanging rockets with enemy mechs.
