So what's the best indie game you've played recently? I finished Machinarium last weekend and that was pretty decent, but Amnesia Dark decent is shaping up to be pretty awesome too...

Minecraft. Anyone else?
I'll have to agree as well...

Oh Cranky, last time I was online, there were zombies in your basement...
I could see them through the window...

Audiosurf. Hands down.
I just bought that the other day, i'll have to give it a go.

Has no one played Amnesia Dark decent though? you have to admit that's one damn scary game :-/ I'm playing it in like 10 minute bursts i.e. I play for 10 minutes then have to leave the game and do something else because I'm crapping myself.

I've been quite addicted to the Bit.Trip [http://bittripgame.com/] series lately. Especially RUNNER is a game I keep getting back to, despite constantly dying many, many times.

I'd go for Chelsea and the 7 devils (also known as Bunny Must Die)

it's an indie metroid with an infusion of castlevania..... and an epic sense of humor

Is it Cave Story It's probably Cave Story. Oh, and Spelunky, too.

Although if we're strictly adhering to titles we've played recently, then probably Minecraft. The Enchanted Cave on Kongregate is pretty fun, too. And so is REPLAYING :the game: on Newgrounds.

Also, I just lost the game.

Minecraft, Mount & Blade and Dwarf Fortress sums it up for me.

EDIT: Sometimes I hate being a Grammer Nazi.

I haven't played minecraft yet, though I'm very tempted. The best I've played so far is World of Goo anyway. I wonder if those guys are doing anything new...

Uh... Wow. Tough one, this.

I can safely say, at least, that the top five would be Minecraft, Iji, Cave Story, Dwarf Fortress and Amnesia, though the last one can safely be replaced by Penumbra if you prefer.

A lot of roguelikes are quite good too. Really, the genre just has too many excellent games in it for me to be able to decide.

Oh, and Touhou games. Also pretty great, if only in a "fun gameplay" way, rather than good plot or massive depth.

Edit: Another one on the list of honourable mentions would have to be Audiosurf. Love that game.
