Hey guys, an old person gave me an Itunes Gift Card (I know, right?) and I wanted to spend it all on games.

What games would you guys suggest I get for my Iphone?

Please no apple hate flame stuff, I just would like some suggestions. Thanks!

I was thinking of getting SSIV Volt and Robot Unicorn Attack so far...

NOTE: I am not a fan of games that utilize the actual tilt aspects of the phone, I like to stick to games that have virtual controls or simple tap and touch aspects

Temple Run's really good and that's free, Run Roo Run is a good little puzzle game and if you're into bullet hell shooters then you want to get the Cave shooters like Bug Princess and Dodonpachi.

Bullet hell shooters?

And cool, thanks for the suggestions!

Are SSF IV Volt and Robo Unicorn attack good choices?

Haven't played SSFIV Volt but it gets decent reviews, and I like Robot Unicorn Attack :)

Just noticed this, and I should add that Temple Run has some tilt controls but it's mostly touchscreen based

I've had a lot of fun with Volt, and King of Fighters 2012 is another good choice. CoD Zombies is actually pretty fun as is Civilization Revolution. Jetpack Joyride is a great little side scroller. Infinity Blades I & II are pretty remarkable for what they do with the hardware - and just plain solid games to boot. Dungeon Raid is a fun take on the bejeweled style game.

Stream of consciousness suggestions...

Angry Birds
Angry Birds: Seasons
Angry Birds: Space
Cut the Rope
Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift
Robot Unicorn Attack
Robot Unicorn Attack: Metal
Fruit Ninja
Worms

Those happen to be the ones I have on my phone. Most if not all of them are critically acclaimed.

I would highly recommend Squids (and the sequel, Squids Wild West is being released tomorrow or thursday)

The Escapist itself described it as a mix of Final Fantasy Tactics and Angry Birds. It's got fun, challenging gameplay, but it also has a really good story, a fair difficulty range and just fun adorable characters.

I can't recommend the Squids games enough.

Other games I would recommend are Jetpack Joyride (which I believe is actually free right now)

and pretty much any of the following games released by Adult Swim (yes, that adult swim)

Monsters Ate My Condo
Bring Me Sandwiches
Snoticles
Extinction Squad
Velocirapture

Little Things Forever is a good game if you're into I, Spy style gameplay

Where's My Water is a really fun game. It's made by Disney and it's like a liquid based physics game. Hard to describe, but a lot of fun.

Paper Monsters is a pretty good 2D Platformer style game that's sort of like a mix of Mario and LittleBigPlanet

Super Lemonade Factory is a pretty charming retro style game...

There's a lot more I could recommend, but I hope this little list helps out some.

Seriously though, I HIGHLY recommend Squids and Squids Wild West. Please promise me you'll at least look into them lol

As mentioned earlier the Cave shooters such as Dodonpachi and Espgaluda are must haves, about as good as anything you can get on any system and the controls are perfectly suited to touch devices.

Battleheart is also extremely good, basically it's WoW combat with the extraneous fluff taken out and you control 4 party members at once.

Ascension is an utterly brilliant game that's perfectly suited to short bursts of gameplay. If you like board game style games Ticket To Ride is also fantastic.

Game Dev Story is a fantastic little strategy game that is wonderfully meta.

Contre Jour is an incredibly stylistic and beautiful little strategy game.

Then in the space of games that exist on other platforms (and so you can probably find out about easily) you can get Phoenix Wright, Ghost Trick, Secret of Monkey Island 2, Broken Sword 1 & 2, World of Goo, Quarrel, Sword and Sworcery, Hector. These all have excellent conversions.

There's way, way more but it really depends what kind of thing you enjoy. At any rate there's plenty to get you started here.

Squids looks awesome! But should I bother getting it when the sequel is coming out so soon?

Also, I'm not a fan of the whole microtransaction thing...can that be avoided easily?

Gem Keeper is a fun (and free) tower defense.
Plants vs. Zombies is just like the PC version (with the glaring exception of an endless mode). Actually, I think it plays much better on a touch screen than mouse and keyboard.
Ghost Trick is very good. If you liked the Pheonix Wright games, you'll love it.
Raid Leader is fun; it's like raiding in an MMO simplified down to three characters and a singleplayer game. Battleheart is similar to RL, and many say it's better, but I disagree. RL is better if for nothing but that Battleheart is a big mess of overlapping characters, which makes it difficult to precisely manage your 4-man team--it uses a 2D plane with up and down movement for a battlefield (like Golden Axe, or other old beat-em-ups). RL's three-quarters overhead view and less characters on screen simultaneously makes it very manageable. It is a bit shallow though, once you beat the pretty short(even for an iPhone game) campaign, there's nothing left to do except grind out more ability unlocks--but there's nothing to use it on but bosses you've already beaten.
Bike Baron is my favorite iOS game. It's like Trials 2, Trials: HD or Trials: Evolution, if you've ever played those. It's a skilled based motorbike game, in which you must navigate zany obstacle courses (preferably without falling).
Swordigo is like a side-scrolling Zelda game. Pretty good, despite its amateur looking graphics.

Infinity Blade 2 Is really good. It has a great combat system where you dodge block and parry your enemy's attacks and wait for a break and then go to town on the buggers. It is my favorite app. My family was obsessed with angry birds for a time. You don't even need to play the original!
Dungeon Hunter 2: It is a isometric rpg. You play as 3 classes rogue mage and warrior and you have to battle against the evil rule of your brother and find a worse threat along the way. People say it plays like Diablo. I disagree but it is fun. I had a great sense of fufillment once I reached the end. Totally worth the no money I payed for it(my father installed it on my moms Ipad and I was playing it) I think it is $5.00 or $4.00 It's worth that price.

Yes, unlike most iOS games out there, Squids is actually pretty story heavy, so while it's true that the Gameplay in the sequel is basically the same as the first game with more stuff, Squids is played for more than that.

The sequel does have a "Previously on Squids" chapter early in the game that sort of quickly explains what happened in the first game so if you really only wanted to get one of the games you could just get Wild West (it's out now btw)

Micro transactions can be avoided very easily. Admittedly in the first Squids game it can become annoying to grind for Pearls (in game currency) if you're one of those people who wants to max out all of your party members, but you're never required to pay any extra money. It's just an option. I personally never did it, and I was able to max out all of my party members.

SF4 Volt is really good if you have a newer iPhone / iTouch. If it's older, than the game won't run properly on it. It's dumb really, because the regular SF4 will run perfectly well on older versions, and Volt looks identical to it.

Well if you're a football (soccer) fan then you should consider Football Manager. I mean there's not grey area, you either love it or you hate it, but when you love it, it's fuckin awesome.
