Best item you ever got from a loot driven game.

So I decided to play Borderlands again today for no particular reason. I wanted to see if I could still solo Crawmerax or if I was too rusty. I had given up on farming him a while ago because he just never seemed to drop any pearlescent weapons for me. I downed him on my very first try and was amazed to find a Fearsome Bessie. A sniper rifle that does almost 2000 damage and has a 500% bonus crit damage. Not to mention, it has 100% accuracy when zoomed in. Easily the best sniper in the game and probably the best weapon I've found (although the Hellfire and Double Anarchy sure give it a run for its money).

What are some of the best items my fellow Escapists have found? Be it in Diablo, Borderlands, Torchlight or other loot driven games.
How do you solo him? He's like five levels above you, even when you're max level! I've never seriously tried him, but I'd love to if there's a good trick to him. He's the only thing I have left to do basically for full gamerscore.

On topic, probably my best weapon is from the same game, just an orange-level shotgun with some pretty insane damage, 12 shots, and 66 accuracy. Nothing special, but it gets the job done really well.

In borderlands I could buy one of those scoped revolvers that shoot 7 bullets at once that was purple at level ~15 and it carried me through the entire first playthrough.
I've oly ever found 2 of those motherfuckers since so I'd guess they are pretty damn rare.

I recently found a Rocket Launcher in Borderlands that shoots 3 rockets in one shot, each doing a lot of damage. But I think my best weapon was a Shotgun that fired explosives (though that was at level 7 or so, so it was major weaksauce)

I suppose that would be the Nightmare Scythe in Guild Wars which I thought I would never obtain it in the first place.
You see the only way you can get that scythe is to get it within the Dormain of Anguish which is a very hard area to play in. I was never the elite type so it was impossbile for me to even try to get it. (Yes there always the trade option but I'm not gonna pay alot of golds for it.)
Anyway, to how I even obtain one was just pure luck. There is this chest in the PVP region of the map that you have to use a special key via rewards from the pvp you played. This chest pretty can spawn anything therefore it is competely random. It seen Lady Luck shine on me on that day when I give it a go using that chest and it spawm me that scythe. Sure the stats wasn't perfect but it was do able and I can upgrade the parts with my ideal stats anyway.

A few years ago I saw a guy die and picked up his black beret in runescape.
Yup.
Its safe to say I don't play all that many loot driven games.

The S-Rank Charge Machine Guns you get from the challenge mode in Phantasy Star Online is probably the be most powerful item I've gotten my hands on. They literally shoot money to do more damage, and when you're over level 100 you don't need that money anyways. So damage-wise, it's the strongest upgrade in the game once you've gotten to that point.

Still, the best item was probably Frozen Shooter from the same game. You can crowd-control everything in the entire room if you use it right.

While playing through the Hard mines in PSO (so very early on) I found a couple of items that I could use a quest to turn into S-Beat blades. I was very excited because their attack power was more than double the most powerful item I had at the time, but I couldn't get the required stat to use them for a few levels. When I finally did I was knocked sideways when I discovered they were daggers and thus attacked twice. They were one of the rarest items in the game (though ultimately pointless as the game had a very low atk cap) so how I got two of them in the same run I have no idea.

7 days later duping hit, everyone had Spread Needles and the game was ruined. But for that moment it was pretty sweet.

The Fast AK in STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.

I didn't even realise I'd picked up a 'special' weapon, I'd just run out of 9mm for my MP5 and no more was forthcoming under the Agroprom base. So I grabbed the first AK I ran across, then immediately ran into the Spetznaz.

BLAAAPP! My God what a good rifle. Whilst in the end game the Groza, G-36 and M4 out class it the Fast AK is the best gun in the early game. Combined with a grenade launcher and it makes parts of the game positively survivable.

Level 31 Hellfire in Borderlands.
Then I found a level 55 Hellfire.
Then I found a level 61 Hellfire.
There were some pearlescents at some point too, but who cares, I have my Hellfire.

I found a shotgun in Borderlands that did a bizarrely large amount of damage while being very accurate. I started using it at 28, didn't manage to(or need to) replace it until 51.

At that point though, it ended up being better to have a long range weaker shotgun and a close range powerful one. Never found one that did both again.

It's not too hard as the Siren because when you are about to die you simply phase walk (which is perked to regenerate most of you health) and run over behind the wall. He won't see you go there so he doesn't look for you. He just sits where you left him. You wait behind cover for the short cool down of phase walk to finish and then you run out and unload as many bullets as you can into him. Just repeat this over and over. The first time I beat him, I didn't have amazing guns so it took almost 20 minutes of this. Now, if I'm lucky, I can get him in at most 5 minutes and sometimes as little as 1.

I use 4 different SMG's for the fight. I use the Double Anarchy (does almost 200 damage a shot and fires 4 shots at once plus, thanks to my skill tree and proficiency, it has a ridiculous fire rate) on Crawmerax, I use my Hellfire for Green Craw Worms, a Corrosive ***** for the Armored Craw Worms, and purple rarity Lightning SMG for the Craw Maggots.

You need to bring an elemental weapon for each of his minions to not only trigger on kill effects, but also in case you do go into last stand so you can get a second wind.

I gave the Fearsome Bessie to my level 69 Hunter with his sniper proficiency maxed. He can now solo crawmerax too. Because of the Bessie's 500% crit damage, he one shots each of crawmerax's limbs. It's a harder fight though because of no phase walk. I do have an elemental weapon for each worm though so I can always kill one for second wind. The hard part is getting to shoot Crawmerax's back.

Kingman v3. If you know what game I'm talking about, I love you.
Um, Call of Duty? No wait! Halo, it's definitely Halo.

OT: The only loot-driven game i play is Dead Island and i can never find anything good in it. Its actually a running joke between me and my friend, i will open a chest and find crap (ex. wooden padle) and he will open the same chest later and find something awesome (ex. 2000+ damage katana) and we are both the near the same level (45-50)

Captcha: boom stick

Unfortunately i have never found any explosive sticks :(
