I was just thinking about random stuff and I began to wonder, what is the best loading screen from a game? The one that sticks in my mind was watching Old Snake chain smoke in MGS4 while the game installed, that was pretty fuggin' awesome. So anywho, what is everyone else's favourite loading screen?

Surely Mass Effect elevators are one of the slowest and most boring loading screens? Maybe they could put a 10 minute watching paint dry minigame into the sequel to top it.

I think that Space Channel 5 has a pretty memorable loading screen just because it said "Now Moloading."

I always liked the loadscreens in The Sims.
They have random lines of text passing at the bottom of the screen saying things like:
Calibrating snowflakes, Generating angry boss, Fine-tuning bladder, Generating random lines of text passing by...
They keep you entertained for a while.

They made the loading screen at least interesting. Like it was still part of the game.

Yea, those were great, mostly gibberish but fun none the less.

Great avatar BTW I'm a big fan.

Oh, it fitted in with the rest of the game. I'll give them that.

Ratchet and Clank's loading screens always worked for me. They just showed you ship flying to your next destination, so instead of feeling like you were waiting for the game to load, it just felt as if you were traveling better planets. This eliminated the frustration of the load screen.

I liked the Skate load screens, with "lift music" versions of some popular rock/metal songs.

There was a really old game, where the loading bar was a fuse on a bomb, and there was a parrot sitting on the bomb, obvious things happened when the game finished loading.

On a general rule though, I like any loading screen where I can tell that it has frozen (e.g music that will freeze/ a loading bar) Games that just post a random screen shot up at every loading screen are annoying cos I don't know whether the games frozen or not.

I love those too, very creative. A shame it only appears at the beginning of the game...
