I kind of thought WoW was kind of boring myself.

Monthly Fee - Dark Age of Camelot. I used to be somebody in that game. People wanted me in their groups, or more importantly, I invited them into my groups, typically by reputation.

It's kind of odd being so good at something that you can have your guild back you for kicking another player from your group, without even knowing why you kicked them, although in my case it became alliance wide.

Free - that's a tough one. The only one I have right now is Shin Megami Tensi's Imagine, and it's rather interesting, to say the least.

DDO without question just for being so different to anything else. In a world of wow clones its like a breath of fresh air.

Apart from that I would say Warhammer aint too bad and I really like the faction system they have implemented if you prefer a more generic game.

Space Cowboy was good, though it goes by a different name now.
It was free (with an special item shop) and whilst the PvE was rather lame in my opinion, the PvP was incredible.

Basically there were 4 different space vessels to choose from
A-gear - tank
B-gear - burst dps/all rounder
I-gear - fast dps
M-gear - healing/buffs

and there were 2 factions ANI and BCU. Each faction had its own set of maps which were like nodes which went from the home city to a central hub. There were points added to a faction tally for every kill and this led to huge swarms of players randomly deciding it was time to attack the other faction, this more often than not resulted in a retaliatory strike, leading to a huge battle/stand-off in and around the central hub.

Now once a side got a certain amount of points from kills, they would spawn their mothership, which is basically an enormous NPC ship with a huge amount of health, covered in turrets which would appear in enemy territory. If your side destroys the mothership within 2 hours then you all gain access to certain priveledges, such as a special map, increased recovery of health and stats, among other things.

Apart from all that it was a fairly simple game, every ship/gear could only have 2 weapons attached at one time, primary (missiles) and secondary (guns). But it was good because flying as part of a huge fleet made you feel like you were part of something important.

Halo isn't an MMORPG. Sure, it's playable online, but you forgot the RPG part. However, I choose none, as I dislike all MMORPG's I've played.

Monthly Fee - Dark Age of Camelot.
This. DaoC was like the best MMO I've ever played.

It was before MMO's got mega popular and everyone had a "set" way to be each character, as in you're that build or you're not welcome.
DaoC was completely relaxed compared to how hectic the new MMO's are.
And it had the best PVP of them all.
RvR [Realm versus Realm] combat was great, and though Mythic's recent game, Warhammer Online tried it's best to mimic the fun that was Dark Age of Camelot, it didn't do nearly as well.

Last time I checked, best and favorite were some quite different things.

My favorite would be Darkfall. Followed by LOTRO, CoV and DDO in random order.
Oh I've been considering trying darkfall. Is it really good? I did sign up for beta and think it is still not open to public correct?

I think WoW is good, but not worth the money, EVE is boring as hell, and I like the way Guild Wars runs, so I play that.

WoW, if only because it's got the most players and you can't jump around on Guild Wars.
