Every boss in every Platinum game, the final boss from Transistor ("So, who gets to go first? How about... me." /freezes time), and that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I really enjoyed the final boss from Xenoblade Chronicles. The difficulty was high enough to feel like a massive battle with a god, but it wasn't so great that it lead to so many deaths that I was completely taken out of the story. Visually speaking, it was quite impressive (by a Wii game's standards anyways), and it had a couple impressive songs
I actually found him rather disappointingly easy due the the fact that he didn't scale with your level. I made the mistake of going around and actually doing a lot of the quests that spawn after the core event so I was around ~95 when I fought him and realized that regardless of being level ??? he was at least 10 levels below me. Visually he was definitely awesome though.

I actually really preferred
the egil fight where he was controlling the mechonis. While not super hard it was definitely a hugely cool moment where the whole scope of the story comes into focus. Plus the rush to take down the power pylons so that he didn't destroy the bionis was great.

OT: I don't really know if they count as bosses but the large monster fights in Monster Hunter and Dragon's Dogma have really spoiled me for boss fights in other games. Being able to climb on a giant cyclops to cut its eye in DD, or have a hard 30 minute brawl with a pair of frenzied Tigrexes in MH have set my standards a little high. I have a seriously hard time enjoying boss fights in a lot of games because they feel so weak. Pretty much any boss in a shooter or anything that has a quicktime event that is more than just a flashy finisher after a long straight fight feels like a cop out.

That said I really enjoyed Artorias in Dark Souls and Sir Alonne in Dark Souls 2 both were pretty much entirely skill fights with no cheap hits that just demanded perfection.

actually she was no threat at all if you go to left of the area once you get cement you can attack her infinity without her being able to touch you or shoot you.

OT: facing Liquid at end of mgs4 it was so awesome.

Fighting The Boss was also amazingly well done also in MGS3.

The Lumen Sage in Bayonetta 2

This guy is fast, relentless and packs some seriously awesome tricks up his sleeve. All three fights you have against him are one of the most epic and fast paced fights you get, and that's just the first few minutes of these fights, later on the shit really hits the fan when both Bayo and him summon up gigantic creatures to have a Godzilla-like brawl in the background while both of you continue duking it out.

Its quite understandable why this gem got so many game of the year awards....
Have to agree here. Never played a Bayonetta game before recently, and it's not on my Console. I've been playing on the hardest difficulty because challenge, but boy did that Lumen Sage kick my teeth in.

I die plenty of times, but on that specific chapter, all of my deaths were due to the Lumen Sage. He is incredibly fast and his attacks are only telegraphed for a half-second, at least 3 times faster than the enemies fought earlier. Your witch-time lasts for just under a second, compared to maybe 3.5 seconds on other enemies. Not only do you hardly get a break, but he has a massive move set, making memorizing timings a challenge.

Great boss fight though, a really jarring experience. Gives the message that "This guy isn't your average enemy". As soon as I saw his speed, I actually questioned whether it was going to be one of those "Not supposed to beat this boss yet" things.

Funnily enough, I actually found the Egil fight a little too easy. It was decent, but I think I realized midway through the fight that I was at too high of a level for him to be much of a threat. In comparison, I actually hit the final boss right around the time when our levels were about evenly matched, so that definitely helped with making the fight feel more significant.

Yeah lots of those bosses are really fun; murai, alma, doku, and marbus. Some are just plain annoying though. You can't say awakened alma is fun, or fighting the stupid tanks and heli.

But from that game, the best boss was created, and that is the Ryu clone. Most fun I have had fighting a boss(they are really more of a mini-boss).

Twilight Princess had some good bosses. Zelda games usually do. The final fight is really memorable.

I just started Revengeance, and the bosses seem good so far. I hate fights where you don't know if you are supposed to win or not, though. It was cool though, that first fight against Sam. The fight against Bladewolf was fun, but maybe that was because I finally got down how to parry.

But yea, Ryu clones from NGB.

Every boss from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance would be my main candidate. If I had to choose from then, then it's be either the final boss, Sam or Monsoon.

Dark Souls had some pretty amazing bosses as well. That said, I find the great strength of that game is also it's weakness, in that a boss can go from being incredibly challenging to a walk in the park based on how you play. For example, fighting Taurus Demon on top of the tower by skilfully dodging his attacks, where taking a bad hit can mean getting knocked off to your death? Awesome. Fighting Taurus Demon by spamming drop attacks and running away? Kind of takes the fun out of it. Iron Golem and Moonlight Butterfly? Epic. Iron Golem and Moonlight Butterfly with Tarkus and Beatrice? Eh, pass the popcorn.

That said, it's cool that the game gives you the choice, which is more than can be said for a lot of games. Plus, there are some bosses where taking the easy way still gives you a satisfying fight. Summoning Solaire to help you against Ornstein and Smough doesn't make them boring for example, it just makes it an even match. Actually, if I had to pick my favourite boss from that game, it would be Ornstein's powered up form. He's quick, brutal and has a nasty impalement, meaning you have to keep on your toes.

I wouldn't call the fight amazing, but at the end of Wolfenstein the New Order the bad guy is in a battlemech with quad Gatling guns. It made me smile in a very early 90's kind of way.

Eox Phantom hour Glass

Best boss in that game and that game had better bosses then most Zelda games. Phantom Hour Glass seemed to be more about action then puzzles.
