Kind of obscure, but I really love the moment in Drunken Angel where the ex-con and fading mob boss fight for control. As they fight, the crash into cans of paint, and as the paint spills onto the floor the two figures slip and slide comically while trying to kill each other. It's just a great stroke and delivers a huge statement about the futility of the violence between the pair.

Anybody else know what I'm talking about?

It might be a little strange, but for me it's the moment in Equilibrium where Preston starts up that old pickup. Just the way it's done that he's finally completely realizing that he does have feeling and needs them, it gets me every time.
