Spiderman 2 is the only game I've played that got close to making you genuinely feel like a superhero.
Yup, same for me too. If the PC version wasn't so gimpy I'd still play Spider-man 2 to this day. Thankfully I still make do with the equally awesome Ultimate Spider-Man.

Escape from Butcher Bay is probably the best one.

But the one I really LOVE as well is The Punisher (2005). It came out the same year the movie did and it was voiced by Tomas Jane who voiced Frank Castle in the movie, but the game itself was actually more true to the comics in character design, and story didn't follow the movie either. But it was a movie licensed game for some reason.

It's an amazing third person shooter with some really cool game mechanics, an addictive points system for killing people and an amazing soundtrack. Guns are awesome, shooting feels so good, threatening and beating people up for information and points is also a lot of fun, and there are lots of cool Marvel hero cameos like Black Widow and Iron Man (a lot more). I must have replayed that game more than a dozen times. I was blown away. I can't believe the game was THAT FUCKIN' GOOD! It got poor to average reviews for some reason. I got it for $10 but I'd rather give $60 for that game than for half the games coming out these days.
If you're a fan of Punisher and you didn't play this game, you owe it to yourself. And if you aren't a fan, you should still play it because it's good. It's old, yes, but if you have a working PS2, Xbox or a PC that was made after the dinosaurs died out, chances are you can play it.

Now listen to this incredible theme ladies and gentlemen:

I really enjoyed the Godfather Game, mainly because I love that era, and the acting was fantastic, and it really felt like the movies.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine for me.

It was everything the movie should have been: bloody, visceral, uncompromising in it's violence.

Other than that, I actually quite liked Spider-Man 3; it was the sheer size of the Manhattan area that you could explore that endeared me. Of course, Spider-Man 2 was better, I just liked Spider-Man 3 as well.
I liked Spider-Man 3, too. To be honest, I'm not really all that sure why it gets such a bad rep. It's certainly not perfect. The boss fights are clunky, there's too many trial & error QTE's, and I guess I can see why people would say the combat is too button mashy, though it never really bugged me personally. It also drops the ball in the story department. Earlier in this thread I was talking about how well Spider-Man 2 adapted the movie's story, SM3 doesn't even come close.

I kind of got the impression that Treyarch just wanted to do their own thing, and was then forced to shoehorn the movies story into the script at the last second. That's not to say I don't enjoy some of the villains and their miniature story arcs, but the movie's storyline is practically non-existent.

But as a whole, I liked SM3 just fine. Even moreso than Ultimate, which had a fanf****ngtastic story but was kind of lacking in the open-world department, in my opinion. And really, that's where the replay value lies.

Now, the WII/PS2 version, on the other hand...

Shrek 2 for the Nintendo Gamecube.

It wasn't really a GREAT game, but it was a pretty fun co-op Shrek game that you and some friends could blow through in a while.

I really enjoyed it, and I didn't think that I would.

The Godfather is a very awesome game indeed. The Godfather 2 is also fun, but it is a lot less fun than the first one. EA fucked up as usual.
Scarface: The World is Yours is another one that really stood out. Hell, It's better than the movie.

I'd also like to say another thing about Escape from Butcher Bay. I would go as far as to say that it is one of the best action/adventure games ever made. It has all the necessary ingredients for a great game. I don't think any of us expected it to be any good at all. And then it ended up being one of the best games ever released on Xbox (I still played it on PC). Screw the movies, Vin Diesel should make more Riddick games.

Oh yeah, I meant to mention this one earlier but completely forgot. Punisher was just a good, fun action game. I loved the interrogation system in particular, especially some of the over-the-top deaths you could give people. It was like a good B-movie action flick in video game form.

It did have SOME ties to the movie, though they were a bit confusing. You fight the exact same fight scene with The Russian, but then at the end they say that Jigsaw is John Saint from the movie. But it doesn't really matter. People, try this game, review scores be damned.

You guys already nailed it. Escape From Butcher Bay is the best. Goldeneye was a great early try at getting FPS mechanics to work on console, but its PC contemporaries like Jedi Knight were a lot better.

There are a lot of great stuff people have already brought up, Spider-Man 2, Butcher Bay, Goldeneye, King Kong, etc that I won't bother repeating. Personally I've always had a soft spot for the Series of Unfortunate Events game. It wasn't a classic by any definition but it was a surprisingly entertaining little piece of work.

And the first Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the Xbox, technically a TV show I know. It was quite a good brawler for its era, and like Unfortunate Events it did a pretty great job of capturing the atmosphere of its source material. It can get a little repetitive and doesn't quite match the level of storytelling in the series, but the presence of almost all of the original cast helps.

I have quite fond memories of Mission Impossible on the Nintendo 64, you got to use a lot of the cool gadgets from the movie and it had decent stealth.

We all know Goldeneye for the N64 was really good but I felt The World is Not Enough was great in its own right, especially its multiplayer and improved gun mechanics. Come to think of it Quantum of Solace is pretty solid too, especially the multiplayer.

There are too many good Star Wars games to mention (Why the Hell isn't there a Republic Commando 2?!?) but going for ones directly based off of the movies, you can't go wrong with Lego Star Wars, especially the Complete Saga.

I had a lot of fun with X-Men: Origins - Wolverine. It was a weekend rental but I felt it was a better conduit by which to show off the violent nature of Wolverine. I didn't watch the entire movie (I don't like Ryan Renolds as Deadpool. There, I said it) but I'm pretty sure there weren't any helicopter decapitation.

I've heard a lot of good things about Spider-Man 2...but have only ever played Spider-Man 3 which I had a ton of fun with even though I didn't achieve all of the achievements on the 360 version. I loved the web-swinging but I was baffled by the number of hammer-wielding lolitas.

The Punisher on the Xbox (and PS2 l guess, I had the Box) was fun on the bun. I'm still a bit annoyed that they censored the execution moves. I can see why they did it though but I would have liked if they had a cheat or something that shows the executions in their full, blood-soaked glory. Also, it doesn't count I know but, I've dressed up my 3rd Street Saint in SR3 to look just like Frank Castle. The best part of that is rollin' with Olag who looks uncannily like Kingpin!

Batman Returns on the Super Nintendo. It was a standard beat-em-up which is better than most tie-in games could claim.

The Connery From Russia with Love was pretty cool as the pre-HD era was winding down. Blowing up a helicopter in an embassy was so satisfying.

I've always thought Spiderman 2 was pretty awesome, as well as Goldeneye and its Wii and HD re-release. I also thought From Russia with Love on the PS2 and the Quantum of Solace game on the 360 were tons of fun. I absolutely love James Bond though, so any James Bond game is awesome in my eyes.

Some others that I thought were great too..

King Kong
X:Men Origins: Wolverine
There's probably some more I'm forgetting....

Golden eye 007 , best game based on movie ever. Sure it may have aged poorly but it's the best in that perticular category .

Yep, this one, for sure. I also really liked Lord of the Rings: Return of the King on PS2.

Spiderman 2 and while I'm not completely sure it counts, Dragonball Z Budokai 3. Sure it's fairly unbalanced but it's still fun.

I've been saying this forever Where the wild things are was one of my favorite games that I played last year. The story is great, the gameplay is ok and it's drastically different from the movie.
