My speech teacher let me show Saving Private Ryan to the class. Sadly, some of them asked me if World War 2 actually happened.

The Shining and The Outsiders. Other than that it was just documentaries.

We got to watch Bill Nye and CSI in Science though.

I don't remember the name or plot of this movie; but it was set in Australia and some guy in it had tied 2 double-barreled shotguns together to create a "super-shotgun" that when all 4 barrels fired, at the same time, it could level a shed.

We got to watch Saving Private Ryan for English.

I'd already seen it, but who cares, it's Saving Private Ryan.

My personal favourite of the movies I've watched in school would be Cloverfield, since it's my favourite movie. I convinced my French teacher to let us watch it one day with French subtitles.

I've watched a ton of great movies in Film class, of course. Classics like Dr. Strangelove, Casablanca, High Noon, Blade Runner, and Some Like It Hot, for example.

In Humanities class, we've watched a lot of clips of various movies to analyze them. We've also watched 2 entire movies because the teacher was feeling lazy and didn't want to teach - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and Airplane!.

I remember the day he told the class we'd watch Airplane! He said, "I'm very tired today, and I'm sure Chamale needs another day to prepare for his presentation, so let's watch a movie today."
I say, "No, I'm ready today."
He glares at me and repeats, "So, anyway, let's watch Airplane!

Whenever our music director was sick, the whole class would watch Hook, which is still one of my favorite movies.

Love this movie.

We watched Seven in Film Studies. That film was pretty awesome.

And yeah, I do film studies so I get to watch some pretty good films in school. It's a good system.

Let's see, "Gandhi" and "The Power of One" in my 10th grade world history class, and "October Sky" in my 7th grade science class. Aww I came to love all three movies from that.

In grade 6 I got to see Stargate, and knew absolutely nothing about it before we started. I was blown away. Such a fun romp of a movie.

In terms of "High quality movie" it's a tie between two. For the first one I remember in year six our Italian teacher once showed us Roman Holiday, a wonderful film with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. For the second one, even though I had watched it beforehand, it would be Life is beautiful or La Vita e Bella as we watched it for Italian back in year 8, a very good film. Both of these sit in my "Top ten films of all time" list.

In terms of "Most memorable viewing experience for the right reasons" back in year 8 our Italian teacher put on an Italian film called Cinema paradiso for us and it was a great film, about halfway through it shows the protagonist's best friend by the roadside dry-humping his girlfriend, there was no nudity or anything and though we laughed a bit when it came on we weren't like a pack of monkeys about it. We did laugh like a pack of monkeys when our apparently ultra-conservative Italian teacher stood up to block our view even though it was a projector, so watching the scene unfold on her chest was even funnier! Sadly we didn't watch any more of it.

In terms of "Most memorable viewing experience for the wrong reasons" I was in year 4 when the remake of King Kong was released. It was towards the end of the year and because the remake was being shown ABC aired the original which I recorded, watched and loved. So because it was the end of the year and we were watching movies anyway I decided to take it in and show everyone else, they all hated it (Including the teacher) and by popular demand had it stopped by the first glimpse of Kong to watch something else, what was wrong with them?!

In terms of "Low quality movie" that would have to go to the piss-poor film adaptation of a novel I quite liked called Looking for Alibrandi, once back in year seven but again recently because we read the book.

We watched Life Of Brian in Religious Education.
What a joke...
It's basically anti-religious...

We saw Silence of the Lambs when I was about 14 in school. Which I think in hindsight was a pretty weird film to see IN SCHOOL at that age. I don't think the teachers realised that their oscar-winner contained that much disturbing stuff.

Favourite movie seen in school? Enemy at the Gates. What a good freaking movie!

so too all the readers what movie have you seen where its only been mediocre but its had a good main actor to make it bearable if not good
Plenty. This describes a whole bunch of movies; from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest to Full Metal Jacket. Most of the great movies out there would be much worse with even one less great performance.
