I've seen quite a few (horror) movies recently, the majority of them ranging between "so bad it's good" and "meh".

The best one, without a doubt, has to be Sauna. Absolutely loved it.
Though I quite liked The Crazies too.

In no way would I consider the last thing I watched to be best (Human Centipede: Full Sequence).

However, the last last movie I watched that was considered "Best"? Punch Drunk Love. It's in my top 10 favorite movies so far, just need another six to fill that list.

I love Repo Man!

The music to it was pretty damn awesome too!

OT: The last movie that I saw was Hunger Games and I quite liked it.

What have I watched recently?
Jarhead, Drive, Hot Fuzz, 2001:A Space Odyssey...
The best I think will have to be this:

So. Fucking. Good.

Antitrust (The more you know about Bill Gates, the better it is).

It was okay. Certainly the best performance from Nicolas Cage in a leading role for a while that I've seen.

Fuck yeah.

Not counting "Ichi the Killer" (Since I've seen it half a dozen times already), I'd have to say this one flick called "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie". It's an Italian-produced zombie-flick helmed by a Spanish director and set in the English countryside. Made in '74, it's pretty effin' creepy. Definitely lives up to Romero's "Night" I think. Grisly and fairly intelligent.

Most recently? "Hard Candy" in a film class. I won't reveal anything about the plot here, as it's one of those movies that you should see without knowing anything about it beforehand. Suffice to say that it was really, really good, I never want to see it ever again, and Ellen Page, as it turns out, is an amazing actress.

A few actually.

Watched the entire Dollar triliogy (Though the third movie is so damn slow by the end)

Watched Snatch (First movie where you see Statham being sorta the whimp.)

Watched Leon: The professional (Apparently Leon is italian in that movie. In what way is he not French?!)

Watched all 4 Rambo films (1st one: loved it. 2nd: liked it. 3rd: same. 4rth: loved it, and it's the only one without some crappy 80s pop song during the credits)

Watched The Dictator (First Chaplin movie that I've ever seen, and I loved it. I've only seen his sketches before)

Watched Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (The arch nemesis of the Shaky cam)

Watched Sword of the Stranger (Amazing fight choreography and an amazing soundtrack. It does sound a little off though, having a Japanese person speaking chinese.)

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time - the anime film.

That film was awesome. I loved that it had the girl doing things any normal person would do with the powers.
I love that movie too! Though the ending really got to me. I got the entire soundtrack, but because of the ending, I could barely listen to it, until days later.
Yeah I wasn't sure what to think if the ending really but it definitely made me a bit emotional...

And the soundtrack, oh god the soundtrack. It was so good that I noticed during the film how good it was and wanted to go and listen to it afterwards straight away!

Tin Tin but I don't watch that many movies. The last movie I saw before Tin Tin was the Dark Knight...

Just watched Picnic At Hanging Rock last night. Now that was a vintage piece of 70's cinema. The score kinda ruined the mood the odd time, but asides from that it was a truly remarkable film. Certainly one to watch over and over, only to realise you probably understand less than when you first watched it.

I just saw Flight of the Navigator for the first time in 20 years and it was still as good as when I first seen it!

I watched Contagion months ago (I admit I don't get to watch new films that often) which was pretty good. It's like the film Out Break but much more dire.

The Tunnel and Stranger Than Fiction.

The Tunnel is a pretty good Australian found footage horror that's genuinely scary, well shot and well acted though not without it's faults. You can see it for free in HD on Youtube. Stranger Than Fiction is my favourite Will Farrel movie ever. Probably because he's playing a character completely different than every other character he had ever played.
