What is the best music to listen to? Personally, i switch between a strong beat to an enigma of epic piano music for effect. Tell everyone on here what you like.

I switch randomly between whatever songs my iTunes top rated playlist wants to play.

Depends on the game. A lot of the games I play already have strong soundtracks, so I'm usually set with just listening to them. When I'm playing a shooter without music, or a game with songs I've heard a zillion times before, though, I usually just grab my iPod and set it to "shuffle".

Anything depending on the game which is an obvious answer really. But generally rock or acoustic music.

Well, I was listening to The Bravery last night while playing DW6, but I wanted to play DW6 and listen to the Bravery, not play DW6 while listening to the Bravery. I usually stick to in game music though.

Saaame.

Usually something quite fast or upbeat.
The best thing about random shuffle is that it always pick the most inappropriate song for that game. For example, Scream, Aim, Fire for Viva Pinata and In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins for a bit of CoD...
It's like it hates me...

Disturbed, Slipknot, and any hard rock like music that interests me and gets me amped up whilst playin
Agreed. Makes me feel invincible while playing and on occasion I will have my character dance to the song (actually a very good defensive strategy).

Well, everyone else has a grudge against them so why not let them have a grudge against me.

There is NO best music for anything, since we all like different music we are all going to prefer different music for each game or regardles of game.

I hate doing this each time someone says this...

Disturbed is NOT METAL.

If the game has a good enough soundtrack nothing but if not I like some instrumental stuff like middle eastern or south american vibes, for most FPSs I would go for some black metal like Watain, Antaeus or Behemoth. The Meads Of Asphodel are good too depending on what game it is.

Hopefully, if the composers did their job right, the actual game soundtrack. If they didn't do their job right, whatever I feel like at the moment, usually different kinds of old skool rock.
