Final Fantasy 6/7/8/10 and, oddly enough, Warcraft 2. Both the human and orc themed tracks were excellent, and the discs contained a "hidden" disco song at the end (which was the worst song, but it was funny anyway).
For me, it's the Final Fantasy series by default. Game music takes up about 90% of my music library. About 40% of that is Final Fantasy, and all of it is good. That's no small thing.
Pretty much this on everything, my music library has a massive chunk of it dedicated to game music as well.
Anything from Nobuo Uematsu is just brilliant. My second pick though would go to Diasuke Ishiwatari, best known for doing the Guilty Gear and Blazblue sound tracks. That shit is all sorts of awesome and some of his songs have become those ones you just never get tired of listening to.
Legend of Mana! Legend of Mana! Legend of FREAKING MANA!
Especially the boss battle theme which has a crazy rock theme goin' on in the middle of this light hearted game. It also had a lot of epic music in each area that made you feel like you were on a crazy adventure.
The Halo series, Team Fortress 2(Valve games), Nintendo games, and Killing Floor. Most JRPG's have excellent soundtracks too. A good portion of my Ipod is the Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Soundtrack.
I think the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time just has so many classics that I would hate myself for not calling it the best. Sure, I would like to say Bioshock for "Cohen's Masterpiece" or Red Dead Redemption for Jose Gonzalez's "Far Away", but Ocarina of Time just has great song after great song. Song of Storms, Soria's Song, Zelda's Lullaby, all perfect.
I would say the Total War series, but only the OST composed by Jeff van Dyck for Rome Total War and Medieval II Total War. The music there was just damn good, fit everything perfectly. I like plenty of other soundtracks though, so it's hard to say I have one single favorite, but this is definitely up there.
M4 Part 2, 'nuff said. Awesome music video too.
Edit: Also anything made by Jack Wall and Sam Hulick. Which would be the rest of the Mass Effect songs...
