Best N64 Game

Perfect Dark on the Xbox Live Arcade is worth it. Updated graphics and all the fun is still there.

I bought the Arcade version, and it's fun enough, but it feels off. The biggest problem I have is with the joystick sensitivity, especially when manually aiming. It may be the blessing or the curse of the N64 joystick, but the hard plastic they used seemed to make it far more stable than the soft plastic in the 360 joystick, but the downside, as anyone who's owned a 64 knows, is that the plastic grinds off slowly and gums up the joystick. It's hard to get a decent balance in the sensitivity to be able to move and also to manually aim on the 360 though, my reticule ends up bouncing all over the place. Never happened in the original version, and I don't have that problem in any of the new 360 shooters I play. The graphics updates are great, but the controls didn't transfer to a dual analog system as well as I would've liked. It's still worthwhile if you don't have a 64 and Perfect Dark though.

Loved Ocarina of Time, loved Super Mario 64, loved Star Fox 64 but I still have to go with Extreme-G. My buddies and I had way too much fun with that game to leave it unmentioned.

- Mischief Makers (Silly, addictive and amazingly fun. Great boss fights and war levels.)
- Perfect Dark and GoldenEye (I was a shooter noob, so these ones blew my small mind)
- Gauntlet Legends (Extra fun was had when we got the RAM upgrade and could play 4-players )
- Super Smash Bros (My whole street played this game together. There was always a line to play.)
- Bomberman 64 (Played multi-player on this game a lot. Still like it better than 2D bomberman xD. The single-player blew like all bomberman single player does)

Multi-player with friends and nostalgia fuel this list.

 

[Outright Villainy]

Conkers Bad Fur Day. They need to make a sequel to that, and not mess it up like they did with Banjo Kazooie.

Blasphemy! Tooie is the best adventure platformer ever!
The galaxy games rule as pure platformers, but even today, I haven't played a game with such a sense of adventure as Tooie.

Kazooie was overrated.

Dammit, i was literally half way through typing those exact words when i scrolled up and saw your comment. Well you are right, the game has some serious balls even by todays standards. It puts all those 'controversial' games in perspective by having a gaint turd opera-sing "I am the great and mighty poo, and im going to throw my shit at you!
