Wrex from Mass Effect was pretty damn cool. I want his voice. Special mention goes to Jenkins from the same game for having the most useless shields ever.

Although saying that, i've only actually cared about one character for them instead of just their skills. Which would be Dog from Half Life 2.

Indeed, Gaz is awesome, he likes to keep a shotgun for close encounters.

The sentry in TF2. In one round of 2-Fort, my sentry in the intel room lasted so long that I began naming it and giving it a personality. When a Spy killed Hiroshima (by the way, I named the sentry Hiroshima), I made sure to brutally bludgeon him with the wrench of the Revengineer!

I think the best ones are random people like this. No body else would ever have to same answer, which is why it's so unique and awesome.

I think the all time favorite NPC of mine would be Private Louise from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Don't remember Louise? Not surprising. He was one of the non-descript characters in the first Marine mission towards the beginning. There wasn't anything particularly special about him, but for some reason, he was always the first to rush into battle. He fought hard, but usually died quickly from unfortunate events (like he'd happened to stick his head out to shoot as a cooked grenade HAPPENS to fall RIGHT in front of him - that sorta thing). The reason why he was memorable is because my friend and I were attempting to finish the game on Veteran, and we were having a difficult time in the first level, so he ended up dying stupidly, but heroically, over and over and over again (because we respawned at check points). That was almost two years ago, yet to this day, no matter what genre of game, we shout our famous battle cry, "FOR LOUISE!!!" whenever we're facing impossible odds, in honor of him. Such a great NPC. haha.

Brilliant, abosolutely brilliant. You brought a tear to my eye.
