I agree with quite a few of these observations, but there is one moment I've had while playing a game that really stands out as me jumping out of my chair shouting "OH SNAP!"

If you've heard of the game "I Wanna Be The Guy" -- yeah, you know what I'm talking about.

I was platforming along, just running and jumping peacefully through an idyllic landscape, when the moon fell from the sky and killed me. Just like that. No warning. NOT EVEN AN INKLING OF SUSPICION.
That is what I would call an "OH SNAP."

How has no one put Assassin's Creed in here? That ending was a bitchslap from here to eternity! Not to mention, a pretty severe "OH SNAP" moment...
No. I mean really the thing was announced as a trilogy, it's pretty clear that the the overarching plot is "Desmond learns the skills of his super-assassin ancestors and uses them to thwart the templars in the present". It wasn't much of a surprise at all, if you were paying attention especially to the "present" bits (Actually 2012).

True, but I went into that game knowing next to nothing. I just rented it, played through it really quickly, enjoyed it and the story, then, when it ended, I yelled "WHAT THE F*CK!!!" It was only after I finished the game that I learned that it was going to be a trilogy, but still, some closure or setup for the next title would have been nice, know what I mean?

Pick a Metal Gear game. Any Metal Gear game.

Still have to say my favorite would be MGS3, though, when you find out EVA has defected to China, sort'a.

Well, she actually worked for China all along. The Metal Gear games are pretty good at this though. A lot of plot twists you never see coming.

"I see the President has equiped his daughter with munitions, too."

That was an "ohh, snap," moment that failed miserably because Ashley's dialogue.
I mean, comeon. He's a smexy Spaniard with a smexy accent. There is a plethora of better comebacks. I'd be a bit flattered, albeit put off if a smexy spaniard did that to me after I had been imprisioned by Cult zombies.

Indigo Prophecy for US, Fahrenheit rest of the world. That game just suddenly turned a perfectly good thrilling and emotional story into bizarre amateur hollywood C list crap, in like....one scene, about two thirds in, involving a certain "connected" vision. It just goes completely loopy after that. That definetely is my number one "oh snap!" moment.

Ah yes, the first
'Dodge-Bullets-And-Jump-Onto-A-Train' is standard.
bit was slightly too much, and then the
That he's been kinda inducted into an Ancient Mystical Cult
bit, and THEN the
Punch bricks away, fly in the air, run across a vertical wall rubbish
just made me want to curl up into a little ball, and weep hysterically over the final realization that PC game story writing really is perilously close to an eternally damnatable state of fail, from which no man/woman may survive.

Oh, and it also made me want to play something else. Something which has a story that makes some sense, and isn't as pointlessly obscure as waxing an owl...

In God of War 2,when you see Zeus stab Kratos with the Blade of the Gods and when you find out that Kratos is, in fact, Zeus' son. I was thinking, "Oh snap! So that's why he's so ballin'."
