I stumbled across some covers of the first Metroid OST, and my goodness, they perfectly fit with the games atmosphere.
The person used synth, and there are a couple of tracks that are just fantastic, namely Kraid's Lair and the main theme. They capture the isolation and creepiness of the game perfectly. I also love the old school 80s scifi feel it gives.

Man, these actually get me excited for the new Bladerunner, haha.

Does anyone know of any OST covers which perfectly represent the game to them? Feel free to share.

My bro and I played the shit out of FF6 when we were kids. We even did voices as we read the dialogue.

So I'm nostalgic, and this song remix of Figaro's Theme makes me all weepy eyed.

But does this remix capture the tone and atmosphere for you? When you hear this song do you think it perfectly captures everything about FF6?

This one for Road Rash 3 is great. The metal fits perfectly with the violence, speed, and the sense of danger and adrenaline.

And also this one for Diablo. I'm not sure if maybe a violin or some woodwind instruments would create a more haunting and mysterious feeling, but guitars manage to do a really good job of it.

EDIT:
And this one fits Streets of Rage great. I can imagine an old 80's movie, where Axel and Co. are going on a montage, finding gang members and Mr. X's goons and beating them up and trying to get information on where he is. Of course only for the middle parts, something a little heavier would be good to get the downtrodden, despair, and crime that pervades.

Aw fuck yeah, I was just about to say this. Particularly the cover of "Undertale" itself, that gave me chills. They really captured the bittersweetness of not only that moment in the game, but of the story as a whole.

That one "Bergentruckung", "Hopes and Dreams", and "His Theme" are my favorites
