Counter-Strike Source, The Orange Box and some other games you can buy on Steam (the Penumbra games, Audiosurf, Unreal Tournament 3, Fallout 3 etc.) but I have more fun with CSS than with any other game I own for the PC.

If you've got some money left over and a LOAD of time to play it, I'd go with the Steam "complete pack". You get:
Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat, Day of Defeat: Source, Deathmatch Classic, Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, Half-Life Deathmatch: Source, Half-Life: Blue Shift, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Half-Life: Source, Left 4 Dead, Peggle Extreme, Portal, Ricochet, Team Fortress 2, and Team Fortress Classic.
for $99.99 on Steam. Yep, that's 25 games for $99.99 dollars, meaning just $4 per game. Add to this the L4D Survival pack coming out in mid april, and you're onto a winner.

On a side note, what are your specs?

Unreal Tournament. The classic one. Or perhaps some decent C&C (pre-EA), my favorite being Red Alert 2.

If you're into modding, go with Oblivion.

What genre do you like? OR are you just trying to test just how good your computer really is?
RTS; Command and conquer 3, Kanes Wrath, Red Alert 3 OR Supreme commander:Forged Alliance.
FPS; Orange box, some good online and offline ones here, might want CS: Source one very good online FPS. or maybe BattleField.
Miscellaneous; Mount & Blade (hard to describe, your one person going around a medieval period of time roaming the countryside (birds eye view on horse) and going into castles, towns and cities, you get a party with people you buy or train from peasents and so on. the fighting is first person too :). Sins Of A Solar Empire was fairly good but lengthy, you could try X3: reunion or the newer one X3: Terran Conflict (which the irrelevant story picks up from the first. FPS Space Sim thing with fleet management)

hope I gave you enough names to try out ^^

Neverwinter Nights is the game that never stops giving. ;) There are so many user-created modules and persistent worlds out there that no one person could ever play them all. :)

However, it probably won't take advantage of the super new graphics card you are bound to have gotten with your new PC. :D

When I upgraded my PC the first thing I did was buying this pack. Although I had to buy Left 4 Dead seperatly

THE ORANGE BOX

seriously. theres nothing else out there that offers as much content, as much quality, as many free upcoming updates, as many mods, etc.. that even comes close.

plus it's only like $30-40 now most places.
