I love when games allow players to name their weapons. It adds a level of personal attachment that conventional weapon customization can never compare to. However, some player-chosen names clearly superior than others. What names have you come across that are superior to the rest of the pack? Personally, I was killed in TF2 yesterday by a sniper rifle dubbed 'Try Again'. I found it infuriating, as it killed me multiple times while I was minding my own business as a medic.

I dont know if this counts but I call Deo-Bombs in Dead Island "Ronnies" because of Ronnie James Dio.

"Minding your own business as a medic" The medic is the core of any decent offensive, even without a microphone they gather the muscle around them into a some kind of boiling onslaugt, which even held up by good defenses, builds the ubercharge, ready for that point-taking knockout uberpunch.
Pick the medic, and you break the waves, allowing your teammates to scatter the enemy, then annhilate them.

"Doctor Medicks Fabulous Stick", a nickname given to a Medigun of mine that many people have laughed at.

I thought this thread was about 'Names you've seen', not 'Names you gave your weapons yourself'. =/

All I can recall is "Tard Leash", given to a Medigun of some player in TF2.

EDIT: Someone as a Demopan who renamed their pan "Hale's Own Pan"

Someone who renamed a Rainblower as "My neW+M1ssion is to make you mad"

A friend who was playing Skyrim named his Daedric Warhammer the "**** Destroyer"

I lol'd...
Think about the design..your friend's got a point.

Don't have names for weapons, but in PotBS, a pirate MMO you can name ships, once met a player who had named his "This is my failfit". It was a Poseidon. It makes sense for PotBS Players.

In Medal of Honor LANs at uni I christened my shotgun "John Major", It was brutal up close, so I loved sneaking right up behind someone and shouting "SAY HELLO TO JOHN MAJOR!". Since we were all sitting in the one room everyone heard me and just as their character models spun around to see where I was I blasted them for an easy kill.
It got to the stage that everyone would panic when I said that line, because they knew one of them was about to die, and then after a while they were able to read my expressions while playing, and since I have a rubbish poker face could pre-empt when I was sneaking up on someone and move out of the way. Good times.

I was running a couple of multi-player adventures through Neverwinter Nights with a couple or friends back in the day. We would rotate the "DM"-role around(every adventure was created by someone in the group). I was playing with a dwarf cleric that had a slight problem with humans. So many problems, in fact, that he named his magical warhammer "The Man hammer +5". My friend got in on the joke and upped the crude stakes with his knife "The C*nt Punter +3".

My Favorite named weapon was from Guild Wars 1. The naming system in the game changed the weapon's prefix and suffix based on what upgrades you added to the weapon. I exploited the system to give myself the: [ Barbed Barbed Axe of Axe Mastery ]. It went great with my [ Beastmaster's Gloves of Superior Beast Mastery ].

My flatmate has a Daedric Axe called 'Orphan Maker'. I laughed at that. There aren't many games where you can name your weapons though.

Unless simply calling a gun another name other than what it's called counts, in which case the Crossbow from NOLF 2, which a friend of mine called 'The **** Destroyer' since, unintentionally, the arrow would always be in the cortch when he was killing those assassin chicks in the first level.
