Best PS1 game that should be remade

Spiderman is my favorite Ps1 game so I would like it to be remade if they made it a little less kiddy. (I don't want it to be gritty I just don't want to see captain america playing gold fish with the Punisher this time.)

a couple of games I think would not be better with a 3D HD paint coat to it. Games like Valkyrie Profile and Breath of Fire 3 look appropriate with their sprite graphics and would lose some of their charm. Old polygon based games on the other hand could use an update.

Why all this talk about remakes? Remakes are evil! Remakes are spawned from the lowest circle of hell. The 208th circle for unpleasable whiny dipshit gamers.

Ah, yes, right next to the 209th: the circle for dipshit posters who don't add any value to the conversation with their "contribution," but feel the need to post anyway. It's a big circle.

Hell, I was against it at first, but I'm actually hoping for an FF7 remake as well. As much as I like the game as it is, I wouldn't mind an update to the English translation. Because I think it held back a potentially great story due to it's typos and engrishy grammar.

FF7's worst feature, story-wise, was the fact that they put some pretty massive plot information in optional areas with no clue that they are there. An odd design choice.

Final Fantasy 7 is going to see a remake; we just don't know when. Square-Enix has hinted that it's not going to happen as long as backwards compatibility exists, and as much of a dud as the PS3 has been stateside, it's doing quite well in Japan. But considering how remake happy S-E is (and as a Dragon Quest fan, I love that fact), I wouldn't even hold them to that. There's just too much money on the table for them to ignore.

PS1 games had such a great collection of variety, even in the popular genres like platformers and beat 'em ups. Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Croc were all platformers but all had their unqiue twist. I know Sony keep re-releasing them via PSN but a whole re-mastering wouldn't go a miss.

Xenogears, I'd want them to keep the general style of the original, redraw the sprites, get better voice actors ,add frames but most of all I'd want them to finish the second dang disc.

Heck, I'd even be happy if they didn't upgrade the graphics or sounds (bart's yell was hilarious!) so long as they redid the second disk properly!

FFIX was a close runner up, my favorite FF by far.

Legend of Dragoon was always amazing to play as well.

Less remake, more 're-imaging' is FF8.
I love the game, it's REAL 'guilty pleasure'.
But, I think if given the Silent Hill: Shattered Memories treatment, it could be a REALLY great game.
